This one mistake can make an expensive cosplay look cheap.

Same costume.
Same camera..

The only thing I changed was the direction of the light

I used starfire for this tip not so much for indoor shoots but so you’d remember if you’re following the sun this summer

Get in front of it

If you are indoors

For this reel I used a simple three-point lighting setup:

💡 Key light: Chest height, about 45° in front of me. This is the main light shaping my face and costume.

💡 Fill light: Opposite side at lower power to soften shadows.

💡 Rim light: Behind me to separate me from the background and bring out the silhouette.

The goal isn’t to buy expensive lights. It’s to understand where your light is coming from. These are all pretty cheap one of these days I’ll get my 💩 together and update my Amazon storefront with this gear but until the dm me if you would like a link for anything.

This is one of the principles behind my C.H.A.O.S. Method. Great photos aren’t one trick. They’re dozens of small decisions working together.

I think this Thanos quote fits Slade / Deathstroke pretty well. Felt less rusty with the bo staff yesterday and follow check out the lightsaber version I’m going to post later on!!

I’m feeling a little 2B-ish today, caught up in events over which I have minimal control and trying to do what is necessary so that at least my part works out. This was taken at @motcitycomiccon 2022 and R2D2 was less than thrilled to pose, given what 2B is programmed to do to robots. 🫢

Happy Wonder Woman Wednesday and Happy July! Given the heatwave, I thought it appropriate to share my Swimsuit Wonder Woman cosplay today. Please keep hydrating throughout the day if you live in an affected area. Heat illness can creep up on you very quickly! I’ve had heat stroke twice and am now very susceptible to heat illness… and it is NOT fun. Stay safe!
