Cocoon

A home I am rebuilding piece by piece
in an attempt to preserve what remains — memory.

This work reflects a moment of rupture and transformation.
Leaving my country, I lost not only a place,
but also a sense of identity.

Through this process, I search for new ground —
to rebuild, to hold, to continue.

The cocoon becomes a space of transition:
a fragile structure where past and present meet.

Inside it, I embed fragments of soil and clay
that I once collected at home,
as a way to preserve the archaeology of memory.

Кокон - это мой дом, который я собираю по крупицам в надежде сохранить то, что от него осталось - память.

Год начала Украинской войны, изменил жизни очень многих людей, мою в том числе. Из-за несогласия с политикой моего государства, я покинула свою страну. Вместе с этим потеряв не только свой дом, друзей, мастерскую, я потеряла свою идентичность.
В этой работе я обращаюсь в самую глубь себя, чтобы её найти. Чтобы построить новые опоры и новую жизнь. Это мой способ пережить утрату.

Кокон - это защитная оболочка, которой окружают себя личинки переходя в новую стадию развития.
Мой кокон - это переход в новую стадию моей жизни, в котором я также пытаюсь сохранить свой прошлый опыт, всё то, что является неотъемлемой частью меня самой и что так легко потерять.

В процессе работы мне удалось отправить себе посылкой фрагменты почвы и глины, которые я бережно собирала еще дома, в Таганроге. Тогда я еще не знала, что в один день вынуждена буду уехать.
Эти фрагменты и материалы я вплетаю в свой кокон в надежде сохранить археологию своей памяти.

“Dreams”
In the series "Dreams", started 2021, I explore the question of what reality truly is. The series of ceramic sculptures was a result of my deeply emotional experience of a loss of a loved person. I tried to reason that most often, whenever the pain of loss becomes unbearable, we push the pain away and take the worries to our dreams. And I question whether people don't really leave us but instead go into an eternal slumber? To a world which keeps the hidden secrets and where the deepest kinds of pain reside? The sleeping heads are kind of opening a portal where the reality seems different and whatever we perceive as real seems like a mirage. While dreaming, a human being goes through different phases and states: they discover knowledge otherwise unobtainable in a normal life. Perhaps, they experience another, more saturated life.
In this series, I use the technique of spiral molding from tourniquets. Each new turn of clay tows is a certain phase of immersion into the sleep.

But the work only becomes finished after the burning which serves a sort of a ritual of transitioning from our reality to a new world of dreams. taken in Bern by @kost_alena

Как дела?

Очень много мыслей. Так много, что кажется, словно я их транслирую постоянно, здесь или близким, а потом оказывается, что нет, что я молчу и просто плачу.

Вынужденная сепарация. С домом, с родиной. Потеря идентичности.
Полная потеря идентичности.
Моё ощущение себя сейчас - это нулевая ячейка общества. Полное отсутствие социальных ролей.
Никто. Ничто. 0.
Война убивает людей. Пропаганда их разлагает. А меня она просто разложила на частички теперь уже потерянного целого.
Первые несколько недель мы плакали. Мы оплакивали этот ужас, этот ад, погибших людей, боль украинцев, потерянные дома, жизни, связи.
Сейчас я скорблю. Обо всём этом и о своём доме. И о том, что себя я тоже потеряла.
Войне нет никаких оправданий.
Никогда. Никаких. 0.

Keramikworkshop: Skulpturales Gefäss

Wie wächst aus einfachen Tonwülsten ein Gefäss mit skulpturalem Charakter? In diesem Workshop mit der Gastdozentin Alena Kost @kost_alena erkundest du die traditionelle Wulstaufbautechnik und gestaltest dein ganz eigenes, organisch geformtes Gefäss.

Im Mittelpunkt stehen Form, Proportion und Oberfläche. Du baust auf, formst um, experimentierst und entdeckst die vielfältigen Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten von handgemachter Keramik.

14. November, 14–16 Uhr (die Termine bauen auf einander auf)
