“And Jesus answered him, ‘It is written: Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only’.” Luke 4:8

Jesus alone, is worthy of our praise. Sometimes our culture likes to sway us into thinking we are worthy of praise and service. Sometimes we fall into the “I deserve this” or “I should get this” mindset and a lot of the time it is about materialistic things. I fell into this trap many times. Especially in my young adult years, trying to figure out who I was in this big world. I would go to church on Sunday’s, worship and serve Jesus, but my week days tended to look more like I worshipped and served myself. Because I fell for the lies. The lie of “needing more stuff”. The lie of having to “look this certain way”. The lie of having to “be friends with those specific people”. The lie of having to “do what everyone else is doing”. But praise God for His grace.

God didn’t leave me when I left Him.
God didn’t leave me when I sought the world first.
God didn’t leave me when I was abused by others.
God didn’t leave me when I was physically harmed by others.
God didn’t leave me when I was emotionally harmed by others.
God didn’t leave me when I felt empty.
God called me closer every day.

I will never stop talking about how important it is to be in God’s word every single day. Have a physical Bible open, all day, in a space you will see it. Because God is calling you too. God sees you. God loves you, no matter what. He will heal all your wounds.

Seek Jesus first. He will never leave you. by @kotakujawa

I can not describe the transformation my husband and I have felt since we have started making this a top priority. Reading our Bibles out loud, together, is the only way I want to begin the day. We begin the day with God at the center and the rest of the day flows from having His good word on our hearts and minds.

Something I have felt strongly about for a long time is the importance of specifically reading the word of God. Devotionals are amazing tools! Bible studies are beautifully done to help us dig deeper and have a better understanding! But these should be treated as additions to reading the Bible. There are still languages that do not have the Bible translated to their own language. The English language is incredibly spoiled with additional translations! We are saturated in ways to read the Bible.

God’s word is good. It is true and available for you.
Open it and dig in. by @kotakujawa

Jesus nourishes the soul.

The best advice I can give about reading the Bible is to just do it! I always recommend starting in the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John). These four books are eye witness accounts of men that walked alongside Jesus. In these four books, we get to know Jesus on a deeper level.

Just start. Then keep going!💛 by @kotakujawa

I truly appreciate my husband more than I can ever express!😭 He does SO much for our family and works so hard! And while doing it all, he reminds me so much of my Dad…I grew up watching my Dad rebuild the stair case in our house, build us kids an playground in our yard, tile the bathroom, build a fireplace, etc. My Dad did it all! And now I’m watching my husband do all the things. While it’s so special, I also know how frustrating some projects can be and how time consuming they are! But everyone needs a good laugh in the chaos, right?!😅

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭33‬-‭34‬
“But seek first the kingdom of God , and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

John 11:35
“Jesus wept.”

Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

On this side of eternity, I will not make sense of grief or loss. I will not be able to answer the question of “why”. But I know that my Savior loves me, and loves my Dad. I know that my Dad loved Jesus and is in heaven right now. It doesn’t make the pain go away, it doesn’t make it easier to carry the weight of grief, but I do feel peace from the Lord. In every season, God is still good.

I pray for anyone experiencing grief from loss to know and experience the peace and the goodness that Jesus Christ offers. The God of the universe, the God that created you, wants to fill you with a peace and a love that you can not find in anything this world will try to offer you. Run to the Father, His arms are open wide. 💛 by @kotakujawa

It’s basically Christmas every month in this house!😂

In all seriousness, I will NEVER get over how much shopping this way, at this store, has transformed our finances and our family dynamic!!👏🏽

I am WAY too busy to be running out to Target anytime I run out of something! Plus I can not afford to keep up with the materialistic “needs” that internet says I need!
Amazon is over priced and honestly I don’t trust where any of that stuff comes from.
Also, our family does not have a Sam’s Club or Costco membership🫣😂 we would be broke!🫠

We have found safer, cleaner, and more affordable products here. As a mom, I need to have a place I feel confident to bring the products into my home for daily uses.

We save an insane amount of time by simply shopping one time for household essentials we need for that month.

Our family dynamic has transformed because Trent and I are on the same page with finances. We place this order, one time a month, together. Instead of me going out to target (more than once a month) and buying all kinds of things we don’t need, we actually look at our needs and make decisions together. And that has transformed our family for the better!

Y’all my husband did not know when I was out buying laundry soap, ten different hand soaps, a random new counter cleaner, a new supplement I wanted to try, etc. I would simply go to target, get a couple things we needed plus whatever I felt like swiping the little plastic card for. It was SO unhealthy! Praise the Lord for this change in our household!

Proud to be a “subscriber” to a wellness store.
Proud to monthly shop at a place I know I can trust and has not been sued like 90% of the products that somehow stay on the shelves of Target or Amazon.

Also, who doesn’t want to open up a box of household essentials with their kids and watch their kids be excited about things like hand soaps and dishwasher detergent?!😂 by @kotakujawa

When we read scripture, we are taking in the literal word of God. But it can’t stop with us simply reading it. We have to follow through with our actions. And it is our responsibility to lead our children in the same way!

So often, I find myself apologizing for not displaying a biblical call to kindness, love, or putting the needs of others before my own. While I truly try my hardest to lead my daughters by example, I want them to know that I am not perfect. And what’s important about this is that they understand that when I make a mistake, I genuinely feel sorry for my actions and I am genuinely seeking forgiveness and will work to do better.

We are not perfect, God knows that. But Jesus gave us the gift of His life and the gift of His word to grow in grace and love together. 💛 by @kotakujawa

Watching the farmer harvest reminds me of Mark 4…

“The kingdom of God is like this,” Jesus said. “A man scatters seed on the ground. He sleeps and rises night and day; the seed sprouts and grows, although he doesn’t know how. The soil produces a crop by itself, first the blade, then the head, and then the full grain on the head. As soon as the crop is ready, he sends for the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭4‬:‭26‬-‭29‬ ‭

We can never fully understand how and when God is at work. We know He is at work and we know He is good. And we lean into this assurance from daily time in the bible.

We have to trust in His work, in the seeds He has planted. There is so much peace in trusting in the One True God.

Though the seasons change, God never does (Hebrews 13:8). by @kotakujawa
