Y’all, Chef Paul does NOT disappoint! We first came to Sushi Kozy back in January to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We came back this week to celebrate two more. Different menu, inspired by the seasons. Favorites were the oyster with flan, wagyu tart, macaron, duck breast and heart (I know, but so delicious!), the corn ice cream, and the Koji Mushroom dessert.

Seriously, go to Sushi Kozy now before they get their Michelin ⭐️ and it’s too crowded to get a seat at the sushi bar with Chef Paul. He and the team deliver such a wonderful presentation, and their beverage selection and cocktails are phenomenal as well.

Congrats to @koyonghun, @rj_yoakum and the @sushikozy on taking the #1 spot for @d_magazine’s new Top 50 Best Restaurant list! This was from their June ‘26 menu. It was a very special and unique dining experience, can’t wait to visit again 🍣

Japanese tradition, reimagined in Dallas 🇯🇵🍣

We visited @sushikozy in the Dallas Arts District and sat down with chef-owner @koyonghun and Chef @rj_yoakum to explore the culinary philosophy behind the Michelin-recognized restaurant.

Together, they bring a fresh perspective to Dallas dining by blending traditional Japanese sushi with French techniques, creating a menu that reflects the personalities and backgrounds of both chefs.

From Chef Paul’s selection of nigiri to Chef RJ’s flan, inspired by his Mexican heritage, every dish celebrates seasonal, local, and specialty ingredients sourced through The Chefs’ Warehouse.

Third visit to @sushikozy , and my second visit within a month. As mentioned in my stories posted during this service, it keeps getting better.

After listening to @chefspsa with @rj_yoakum , I can see his vision coming to life. The goal isn’t just to create a destination for a special occasion, but to build the kind of restaurant that earns a permanent spot in your dining rotation alongside the Dallas favorites people already dedicate certain nights of the week to. Even though the format remains consistent and it’s a higher-end experience, I found myself thinking about my next visit before I had even left.

Thank you to @koyonghun for the consistent quality fish and for accommodating changes like preparing sashimi instead of nigiri. And thank you to RJ for making guests who may be hesitant about raw fish feel just as welcome without compromising the experience.

The service and management deserve recognition as well. They remember returning guests, notice the little details, and make each visit feel genuinely personal.

To put it in perspective, I visited Craft Omakase the very next day. If Craft has earned a Michelin star, I can only imagine it’s a matter of time before Sushi Kozy receives the same recognition!

Today we are celebrating our dear Dani, who is a true Enneagram 2w3 and our naturally charming, goal-driven queen. If you know Dani, you know she is the kind of SLP who shows up dressed to the nines every single day, regularly skips lunch to get caught up in the hallway answering a teacher’s questions, and fearlessly incorporates her unwavering faith into her speech sessions. Between sending home daily homework and staying late into the night to make summer practice packets for families, her dedication is unmatched in the entire district. She has always been my number one SLP that I very much look up to. Her school families and fellow teachers are going to miss her presence so much, but I am over here secretly rejoicing!

I am beyond excited & proud to officially bring Mrs. Dani Ham on full-time with Jars of Play Speech Therapy. I promise you that we are going to keep making the ultimate power team.

All jokes aside, we are just so grateful for how God built this entire vision. Looking back through COVID, raising kids, changing jobs, and meeting so many wonderful colleagues along the way, it is beautiful to see how everything was divinely orchestrated to bring us right here today. Thank you to our closest friends and family who love and appreciate Dani for the incredible human she is. She really is the best SLP ever!

Huge thank you to the @sushikozy team for making our celebration night so special. The custom cake was truly the cherry on top of the fantastic dinner service. You guys are the absolute sweetest! 🍣✨

A day late, but another year around the sun and for my 51st we went and had Kaiseki - inspired Omakase 17 course dinner at @sushikozy - a Michelin recommended up and coming restaurant.

*** HIGHLY RECOMMEND...GO CHECK THEM OUT. ***

It seemed every course we kept saying "this is our #1" 😂 - basically everything was delicious and we LOVED it all!! We were blown away at their top notch service, the artistic presentation in both their cocktails and food, and all the attention to detail. I'm sure they'll soon be a Michelin restaurant.

Chef Paul was awesome...loved the engagement and conversation we had with him. Ask for him if you go! Great explanation for each bite we had. Thanks to Bronson with a wealth of knowledge on sake....yep, tried new type of sake and loved it. 😊 We are already discussing when we'll go back esp since menu changes every 3mo. taken in Sushi Kozy by @koyonghun

Happy 9 years to both our marriages🤍 Celebrating our anniversaries together has become a cherished tradition since 2022 and I love that we get to do this each year. We’re so grateful for a lovely night at Mamani, treated like VIPs thanks to the reputation and esteem of Sushi Kozy. Can’t wait to start planning for next year’s big 10! ✨🥂 by @koyonghun
