How I became a Fashion designer

My name is Oluyemi Jetawo, CEO of Koyo Signature and Fashion Academy. I am going to be sharing my story of how I became a Fashion designer with all you beautiful people😊.

I am someone who has passion for fashion and I have longed for it since I was still a little girl.

When I was in JSS2, my Mum enrolled me into a fashion School because she was bent on me learning a skill for future purposes but I left after a month because I couldn't cope plus my tutor was very mean so I just stopped going for the training.

Given my passion for fashion, I started my Fashion Magazine called KOYO AFRYKA FASHION MAGAZINE in 2004 back there in Kaduna and I registered it with Corporate Affairs Commission CAC immediately I was sure of the name I wanted to use. Shortly after that, I started organizing fashion shows two of which I took OLU MAINTAIN aka MR YAHOOZEE to the university of Maiduguri in 2007 and STYL PLUS to AUN University Yola in 2009 and both shows was a hit.

Fast forward to 2011 when I relocated to Ibadan with my family, on a fateful day I was passing by a fashion Academy and I decided to stop and meet the CEO of the academy so that I can feature her lovely and classy styles in the next edition of my Magazine. I walked in and met this very pleasant lady so I told her that I wanted to showcase her classy designs in my Magazine ......... So she said Instead of showcasing her designs in my Magazine why don't I just come and learn the art of garment making and use my own designs for my Magazine, there and then it dawned on me that it was time to pursue my dream of becoming a fashion designer.

I was so excited 💃💃💃💃 that my dream was about to come true😁. To cut the long Story short, I enrolled for a year course immediately and within 10 months I was good to go. I had just 2 months to go when she gave up the ghost😭😭😭😭. She died before I could round up but she thought me a lo and that is what is helping me today. I had to enroll into another academy where I was brushed up by my Second tutor and I graduated honorably.
