On Friday my daughter finished her second grade, my son finished his 9th grade secondary.

Two milestones. One incredibly proud mama.

We celebrated the way each of them deserved , my daughter with a concert full of music and pure joy, my son with a wonderful circle of friends over dinner, reflecting on everything this year brought.

These moments do not slow me down.
They are the reason I keep going.

The work, the travel, the hard days, they all make sense when you look at your children growing into themselves.

The fantastic mixed media artist and Art Director whose vision moves between image, material, and memory as if borders were never real to begin with. Because for Jess, they aren’t. The creative force behind Willy Chavarria, one of the most important brands in fashion right now and still, that is only one room in a much larger house.

His work is a sovereign act , Latin culture not as aesthetic, not as trend, but as living archive. As testimony. As power.

He makes his subjects visible in the fullest sense of that word. Not as statement. Not as struggle. As grace.

Being a mother is a lifetime project. Being a mum is the hardest and the most beautiful job ever.
We just need to make it work, and at the same time make it look so easy, as if it were nothing.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there. Wishing you your own mum moments, your own rules, and your own way of doing it best.
But I also want to raise a glass to the women who are not mums, but who look after their nieces, their friends’ kids, as if they were their own. My aunt never had children, but she took care of me as if I were her own daughter. 🫶🏼

Mentorship doesn’t always look like a big moment.

Honestly? Most of the time it looks like a quiet conversation. A portfolio review that runs way over time because something important came up. A message sent at an odd hour because an artist needed to hear something true.

This is the part of my work I never get tired of.
I don’t think my job is to manage careers. I think my job is to see people clearly and reflect that back to them until they can see it too.

The best artists I’ve worked with didn’t need me forever. They needed me to go first. To believe before they did. That’s the part that matters most to me. by @kozvarigaud
