🥹 I couldn't be prouder of this year's Newcastle Art Gallery Youth Advisory Group (YAG) for carving out this pop-up multi-faceted sensory event at Hamilton Community Hive!

We touched, smelled, tasted, heard, and saw local emerging artist responses to a work of art by Virginia Cuppaidge from the @newcastleartgalleryaustralia collection. 🖼

You, too (if you're aged 18-30), can make your wildest arts programming dreams come true. Applications for the Youth Advisory Group are closing at midnight tonight! ⌛️

Thank you to:
💙 @sandy_sanderson_ @ramona___raven for the interactive installation works
💜 @romy_e4 for the musical response
🤍 @kyle_ramboyong for the response in movement
💛 @lovedav.id for the sensory-enhancing blindfolds
👃 @olfactory_stickers for the response in smell
👅 @monellagelato for the response in taste.

To the YAG volunteers who dreamt big, it was such a pleasure to mentor you. Thank you, and congratulations on all your hard work and time in curating, planning and running this event 💐💖: @m.obwife @raffi.butler @nicolagrace.ford @agoldengaytime @brontenaylor @____klutz

Special thanks to @newcastleeventhire @hb_sound_lighting @thelockupartspace @good__brother for helping us with set-up and preparation 🫶

This event was made possible by my wonderful team @zana_jane_ @patrickmmason @pippatakepic, James Collis, Ben Heywood and Brendan Morse; thanks for all the support 🔥 by @kpuzzle

Appreciation post for all the disciplines that (over)stimulated my brain and soul this week. 🫶

Special shoutout to the glory hole bar for making me squeal with delight and then immediately ponder the complexities of late stage capitalism.
