What are these raspberries good for?

Raspberries have enormous nutritional value: One cup provides significant fiber, almost half your daily requirement of vitamin C, and lots of antioxidants, all for
minimal calories. This combination makes them excellent for stabilizing blood sugar levels, managing weight, and reducing cellular inflammation. But these particular raspberries are more than that.

They are reminder of generations of love that continue even when my loved one is not near. Constant fidelity, and in this context, feeling the love of a woman who is long since passed on to ancestry. These raspberries were planted by my great grandmother many years ago and every summer in July they pop back up in my mother‘s backyard like clockwork. It reminds me to give thanks to the ancestors and praise to God.

Someone recently asked me “where do you find joy?”Today my answer would be in the form of a gift left by my great grandmother that I still enjoy today. Joy is found in the sweetness of a raspberry. #joy #raspberries🍇 berry #ancestry by @kraeprepared

A haiku from PHX:

I went to Phoenix
And got a memory long lost
Of my Dad’s waffles

The now grown daughter of a college friends greeted me at her home with a wonderful breakfast saying, “I remember when we would go to your house and your father would make waffles. That’s the only time I ever had them. I’m going to make them for you.” Phoenix stole my heart.
