🩸Started a new series! 🩸 It is called “Parents Guide” and is painted with theatrical blood (fake prop blood used in films etc) on raw linen.
The texts are taken from warnings for “Violence and Gore” from different films, found under the Parents Guide section on IMDB. The warnings are written by users on the site.

The left painting is from “I know what you did last summer” and the right is from “Halloween”.

Looking forward to showing them (and the rest of the series I have still to produce) after a few years when the fake blood has (hopefully) dried….

That’s all for today! Bit of an open studio post, hope you don’t mind 🚧 by @krantzify

Richard Krantz (b. 1989 in Götene, Sweden) performed a futile attempt to start a fire by rubbing two sticks together. The fire never appeared—but eventually the fire alarm went off. This tension between intention and outcome runs throughout his practice, where artworks regarding language, humour, childhood, and existential questions through subtle conceptual gestures and everyday absurdities, are produced. Recent exhibitions include Olseröds Konsthall, Wild Horses Gallery in Copenhagen and Not Quite in Fengersfors. A solo exhibition at Galleri Box in Gothenburg is scheduled for early next year.
