Different variations of Dakota. He has been (and still is!) difficult to draw. Perhaps it is because he is stubborn and I struggle with drawing hair.

Quotes (when talking to Mateo):

"I wrestle dudes and take them down, I kiss you and dance with you, but subtlety isn't my thing."

"I swear to god Mateo I will kick the sh*t out of you if you forfeit this [wrestling] match. You trained so much for it. Dumbass..." *shoves him*

His dad says that Dakota gave him and his mom a hard time because he was such a fussy toddler. He loves deeply, but it comes out in the most brash of ways. In the first one, I tried drawing him with a smirk that reflects his personality: playful and cocky! He walks as if he owns the place, but when he falls in love with Mateo, he doesn't understand the changes within himself and it lands him in humorous situations.

The first picture depicts him with a softer expression. Yes, he does have a kind side too.

After a while, Mateo finds Dakota's irreverence a part of his charm and makes him laugh.

A drawing of my BL OC Dakota. In this picture, he is in college. He is a very skilled wrestler who trains and competes often. Wrestlers wear a singlet, which is what they use in their competitions. He might be hard to deal with, but deep down, he is kind. He learns the culture of Peru through his boyfriend Mateo and learns to become more vulnerable. An American young man learns the traditional dances of Peru, such as the marinera and tondero, connecting him with Mateo, as well as to a land that did not see his birth, and a culture that becomes a deep part of his life. The dances are flirtatious in nature. Engaging in them teaches him to express feelings that he has otherwise not shown.

Note: the marinera is the national dance of Peru. Each region has different variants of it. The tondero is a dance from the northern coastal and farmland regions of the country.

I purchased more gay stuff and BL because I'm being a fudanshi lol I'm scared because my Spanish reading skills might be lacking. Can't I just quit being gay lol?

Escuché que este libro era bueno--el que está titulado "Solo Juntos." Ojalá que mi abilidad de leer en español no sea de lo peor 😆😅 Será que a @victoria_vilchez le gustaría el BL también? Me fascina que las autoras mujeres escriban sobre relaciones gay. Es un sujeto que me hace muy curioso porque su perspectiva es bastante diferente y aporta aspectos psicológicos profundos que no puedo ver conscientemente en la vida cotidiana.

These are two young men in love as they navigate the trials of their relationship. Both are on their school's wrestling team. Don't be fooled by Dakota’s smile, he is actually cocky and quite the ass, but as his father, Coach Evans, says "he may be hard to deal with, but he has a kind heart." Dakota was very difficult for me to draw, but he's finally revealing himself. Tbh, I have cried writing scenarios about these two. I truly believe that our drawings and stories reveal profound psychological insights about us, even when we are unaware of it.

I want my story to have a melancholic aesthetic to it. I am inspired by the musical and introspective words of Yuriko Nakamura.

My dream is to improve my drawing skills so that I can make beautiful pictures.

Meet Peru! It is the country whose culture inspires my work. It is a country that is filled with rich cultural traditions and amazing food from north to south. The Peruvians will proudly tell you that their country is sierra, costa, y selva (mountains, coast, and jungle). This is their country and their pride!

I often wonder why I chose to write about Peru and its people? Spanish is my native language, but I am not Peruvian. I have lived and grown up among the Peruvian diaspora abroad; their warmth and hospitality moved me as they shared their culture and food with me, as well as their beautiful songs and dances that are steeply rooted in history, poetic joy and sorrow. The people of the land of Tawatinsuyu has somehow found a home in my heart. I hope to visit it someday!

My BL story is about two fraternal twins who move from Peru. Their names are Mateo and Rosa. They are of Peruvian/Japanese heritage. This is rooted in the historical fact of Japanese immigration to Peru. They struggle to adapt to life and school in the US, but meet some amazing people along the way as they teach their heritage and dances to others. Mateo falls in love with an American boy named Dakota and lets him inside his world as he and Rosa teach him the beautiful marinera and tondero dances, which become an intimate part of how both boys express the joys and struggles of their relationship.

I went out and brought more BL and shojo manga. I really love the art! I really had no intentions of buying "Re-living My Life with a Boyfriend who Doesn't Remember Me," but I was so compelled by the art!! I don't even know which one to read!!

Btw, I REALLY got to start drawing again. I came up for some good ideas for scenes! Would you one day me interested in seeing them?

Why is this so addictive? Gay romance and shojo romance stir my heart!
