First Lead Nationals!!! Just happy to be here!!!!!
(sorry daming words)  I felt anxious every time I’d think about Nationals. I only decided to join because I thought qualis would be on lead for the novice category (oops). When I found out that it would be on toprope, it brought back those negative feelings coming from the last comp I joined, where I placed dead last and wasn’t able to climb lead. I know I shouldn’t have let it get to me and it doesn’t really matter, but it made me feel insecure.  Leading up to this year’s Nationals, there were days where I felt like backing out but eventually decided to push through (sayang pera). I actually enjoyed the mini training arc with Diero but the brainworms never left. The negative feelings stayed up until my turn to climb the first qualis route. As soon as I started climbing, it all went away and I just did what I could and had the best time. After climbing the two qualis routes, I mainly felt relief. I was also so hyped to watch everyone else climb (ANG SAYA MAGING AUDIENCE).   I didn’t think about making it to finals because I just wanted to focus on doing okay so it felt like a nice bonus when I did. I loved the finals route and wish I was able to get higher, but still happy with how locked in I was (lead still scares me and this was the least scared I’ve ever felt lol).   Thank you to all the organizers, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes for making this event possible.

Shoutout to my friends for all the support and for cheering me on (even with my very early climb sched). Thank you also to ninong @coachbrian_bom for all the advice. And of course, thank you to my other coach and asawa, @grampacible for training with me and believing in me. Glad we got to experience our first Nationals together. Proud of u 4ever!!    Next year ulit? 🦭
