Finally crossing this off my bucket list: Hakone Open Air Museum 🖼️

This marks my tenth visit to art museum in Japan and the best one so far. The fact that most of the installations are out in the open, blending with the nature and the hills, plus how they curated each pieces to make the experience flow smoother is 10/10.

Thought it will be similar to my Hiroshima Museum visit, which left me feeling despair and empty after. Pompeii, on the other hand, showed me how resilience life is and how the nature restored itself with time.

Walking around the ruins, I was in awe the whole time seeing how grandiose life was and learning how fascinating the technology development more than 2000 years ago (they build central heating system!). The natural disaster, which left the entire area under ash and killed the whole , including the slaves, stood as a reminder at how we as humans can’t never go against the course of nature.

But, the nature healed itself, decades and even after two millenniums. From the ruins, new life appear in the form of greeneries around, a cat appearing out of nowhere to greet the visitors, and new houses around the sprawling lost city. Teaching us how despite bleak life could be in one era, it always find its light back.

After a year living in South Jakarta, the beauty of this busy city often fades into the background. The trains, the skyscraper turn into nothing more than part of the daily rush, instead of reminders of how far the city has evolved.

However, last weekend, with @rizaalbr and @auliaaufar , powered by @fujifilm_id X-S20, I got to see Jakarta anew. I met 15 wonderful photography lovers and rediscovered Blok M from a perspective I didn’t know I needed.
