During a recent roadtrip I set aside a couple hours to poke around some farm roads in southeastern Washington. The minimalist photography featured on many Windham Hill album covers in the 1980’s struck a chord with the me in my formative years. So naturally I associate that music to scenes like these. taken in Palouse Scenic Byway by @krh.images

It’s been over a year that I did any night photography, so I’m rusty!! I wanted to have at least one Milky Way photo this year, and when I realized ‘23 MW season is coming to an end I lit out last minute to see what I could capture. I grabbed my small backpack tripod by accident with a less stable tripod head. That was the beginning of my struggles. I didn’t do a good job with lighting so there was a lot to fix in my photos. I’m also rusty with Light Room… and IG too!

When I learned of this historic cabin and saw daytime photos I couldn’t help but think how fulfilling it’d be to capture under stars. Yes it required an overnight backpack excursion, but the fairytale setting was irresistible. @now2eternity and I trekked out there last weekend… swipe to see entire photo where Sean’s camp light in the woods added a nice touch of depth to the scene #happyaccident taken in Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit by @krh.images

I found this photo unedited from long ago and realized I haven’t posted any light painting in ages. @undead.red and @now2eternity joined me in this old movie set about a half hour hike from the car. Here we see @now2eternity performing magic… other than the fisheye lens, the details escape me, but it was definitely a fun night. 😎 by @krh.images
