This one really had my number. I was pretty confident that it would go quick due to good links in the first couple sessions. However, several sessions later and I was still falling all over the boulder on send goes. With the season winding down I gave it one last go yesterday "for the road" and finally managed to lay it all out on the table. Huge thanks to Tip for filming, big Nate and Yazid for always being a joy to climb with, and Josh Lass for the cover photo taken in McGee Creek Natural Scenic Recreation Area by @krimpchi

My supposed reach goal for the season went down last night. Decided to make one last bid at it before the winter storm after keeping an eye on the weather all week. All the moves I had done before seemed hard again, and I spent the first half of the session relearning. I had already sold myself on this being another working session. I pulled on and through some combination of flow and trying harder than I think I ever have, I found myself fumbling around in the dark at the top. So grateful for this one.

Special shout out as well to Nathan for running support..

Planned on McGee today but due to it still actively raining in Atoka, we pivoted to keep going north another 2.5 hrs to Zen Pen. Made some good progress due to good beta from @okie_shredding. Unfortunately, I popped a pulley on my rh pinky pulling to the lip, and at that point I thought it was over. Tried taping it up and switched my grip on the slot crimp and was very surprised to squeak it out in a few more attempts. Rollercoaster of a session with a great crew and couldn't be more psyched. by @krimpchi

RIP DBP Edit

(Clips from a fun sesh with @krimpchi and @leeanneuuh right before the gym’s closing)

I did all my first hardest gym climbs in this gym, and it contributed a lot to my strengths and styles in my formative years climbing in a way you still see to this day, gonna miss it. taken in Dallas Bouldering Project by @krimpchi
