Premiere performance of «Card Orchestra» - Alexey Kriod and Alisa Ache at the International Contemporary Art Fair @cosmoscowfair

Это размышление на тему сакрализации профанного как одного из основных способов возникновения культурных ценностей. Профессиональные музыканты Академии им. Гнесиных и Консерватории П. И. Чайковского на время перформанса отказываются от привычных музыкальных инструментов, заменяя их игральными картами.

Колода карт как инструмент был выбран не случайно, обнаруживается родственная связь с музыкальным миром посредством «языковых игр» Л. Витгенштейна. Понятие «игра на музыкальных инструментах» и «игральные карты» находят свое сходство не только на семантическом, но и на других уровнях. Фортепианная клавиатура состоит из 88 клавиш (52 белых и 36 черных), также как конвенциональные колоды карт имеют в своей основе 52 или 36 карт. В то же время, данный перформанс желание ещё раз осмыслить идею Стравинского о визуальной природе музыки и о роли жеста в ней. taken in Cosmoscow by @kriod

знания - это сон, который снится тебе о самом себе. обилие знаний не определяет умение вовремя ими воспользоваться, как если бы вся мудрость мира была сокрыта в запечатанном слитке, который ты не можешь открыть.

terma отсылает к древней тайной практике, методу консервации знания, использованной тибетскими учителями для передачи опыта следующим поколениям.

мы стремились создать слиток, найденное сокровище, скрытую капсулу, которая заключает в себе символ вариативности, спонтанности, ключей.

содержание скрыто или явлено?
все зависит от интерпретирующего субъекта: присутствие через отсутствие, знание через незнание.

sapere aude, дерзай знать.

объект был частью экспозиции в арт-резиденции Museums Quartier в Вене в
рамках выставки Маду “Sapere Aude: Overcoming dichotomy”. @mqwien

knowledge is a dream we see about ourselves. name is the guest of the substance. the trick is that having knowledge does not guarantee the ability to apply it: like having all the world’s wisdom locked in a sealed ingot you can’t open.

‘terma’ refers to an ancient secret practice, a method of conserving knowledge used by Tibetan teachers to pass wisdom to future generations. we aimed to create an object resembling an ingot, a discovered treasure, a hidden capsule that embodies the symbol of variability, spontaneity, and keys.

is the content hidden or revealed? it depends on the interpreting subject: presence through absence, knowledge through ignorance.

an object was part of an exhibition at the Museums Quartier art residency in Vienna as part of open-studio exhibition “Sapere Aude: Overcoming Dichotomy.” by @kriod

the idea behind this jacket is not as obvious as it may seem at first glance and is largely determined by the choice of card. chosen card (jack) is self-referential to the object (jacket), which in turn is a good suit for the club as indicated by card suit which called by same word (clubs). by @kriod

In this project I’m collaborating with my contemporary artists friends to look at playing card box as an artistic medium. We deprive playing cards of their “playability”. They cease to be a purely utilitarian object, becoming simultaneously an object of contemplation and hidden meaning. The contents of the box is inaccessible.However, it will remain unknown until the box is opened, but in this case the work will be destroyed both physically and conceptually. The decision is up to the owner.

In this project I’m collaborating with my contemporary artist friends to look at playing card box as an artistic medium. The contents of the box remain hidden from us, activating the thought process. However, the contents will remain unknown until the box is opened, but in this case the work will be destroyed both physically and conceptually. The decision is up to the owner.

First in Russia collaboration between card artists and Contemporary Art Center @winzavod. Card art and performance magic as a genres of performing art were faded in the worst conditions for it, associated with light entertainment and low-intellectual craft. There was first attempt in our country to look at it from a new angle, reconceptualize and put it on a new conceptual path. taken in WINZAVOD Contemporary Art Center by @kriod
