Yeh jo desh hai tera 🤍

A place so goated that it compelled me to visit twice in consecutive weeks. Bhandardara, just four hours from Mumbai, truly deserves to be called the monsoon paradise of Maharashtra. It just makes you realise what a blessing it was to be born in a country like India 🇮🇳

Drove 4 hours from Mumbai and back, waking up at 3 AM for two consecutive weeks, just to witness this giant which remains almost completely swallowed by the fog.

The first time, I waited for hours. The second time, I waited again, quietly praying for nature to reveal its best side.

And finally…here we are !! Crying, Goosebumps and Pure Bliss 🤍⛰️

Walking on the trails of Torna Fort is the fulfilment of a promise I made to myself. I visited Rajgad Fort in 2022 and vowed to return to this historic corner of Sahyadris to witness Torna-a testimony to the courage and valour of Shivaji.

Accomplishing this promise, while walking through the lush green, heavenly trails of the Sahyadri, brought together two emotions very close to my heart, my profound love for the mountains and my deep admiration for Shivaji Maharaj 🚩⛰️

Standing on Torna Fort, one could almost feel the echoes of history in every stone, soaked in the valour of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj 👑

This mighty fort was conquered by Shivaji Maharaj in 1646, when he was just 16 years old, a defining moment that laid one of the first foundations of his dream of Swarajya 🚩🚩

Walking through these fortifications, standing on the same rugged Sahyadris and looking across the vast landscape offers a glimpse of the courage, vision and valour that shaped an era 🇮🇳
