Spring is meant to be transformative and I’m happy to say it’s been just that! I hosted an event at @hopeofthevalley ‘s family shelter, The Alvarado. My friends and I had a great time serving, and the families had a great time celebrating! 😁

Honored to receive a Certificate of Appreciation from @paulkrekorian on behalf of the City of Los Angeles, for the work I do at @hopeofthevalley 😁

I work alongside heart driven change makers to give everything and everyone a second chance. Assisting those experiencing homelessness may not be glamorous, but it is profoundly fulfilling. It takes empathy, compassion, and advocacy for social justice.

Knowing I take part in influencing someone’s path towards stability and hope is immensely rewarding 🙌

Nine months in the making, and here I am! 🌟 Stepping into my first ever pageant was a leap into the unknown. I realized I wasn’t giving myself the same love and effort I invest in my work, son, and family. It was time to rediscover my passions, and the first step was to invest in myself! One step closer 💪💖

I’m beyond excited to share that I received a full scholarship to International American University! 🎓✨ I can’t wait to further my education and chase my dreams.

Grateful for the incredible women I’ve met along the way—lifelong friends for sure (whether they like it or not 😉). Huge shoutout to Virgelia Productions & Team for molding us into queens and making this all possible! 🙌

One of my life updates 🌺 In ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian), kuleana is often translated as “responsibility,” but it means so much more. It’s a privilege; a sacred dedication or obligation to your people, place, and community.

For one year and one month, we had the privilege of caring for my youngest sister, Princess.

In my early 20s, shortly after my dad passed, I was asked to take Princess in. I wasn’t in the right place in my life to take on that kuleana then.

This time was different, though still difficult. I had just moved home, started a new job, and was establishing a routine for my son. With encouragement from my now-husband, we decided we could make the temporary sacrifice and be there for her while her mom took time to focus on herself and her recovery.

Over the past year, we helped Princess catch up in school, encouraged her independence, try new things like gymnastics, and most importantly, gave her stability through routines and a consistent village.

There were plenty of bumps. If you’ve ever fostered or cared for a child with adversed childhood experiences, you know big emotions can surface even on the best days. My understanding of trauma has deepened. You can read the books and take the trainings, but nothing prepares you like being face-to-face with it.

When I asked the kids their favorite memories, they both said the holidays 🥰 For me, it was walks to the park, and watching Linden and Princess be silly together. This isn’t goodbye, but I’ll miss having her in our home. I love you Prin!

I’m incredibly proud of her mom for facing her addiction head-on 💪 Choosing her life, and choosing her children. Princess is so happy to be re-unified with her mom and excited for their new home and, eventually, having her other sisters back too!

I’m filled with gratitude 🙏 For my husband, our families, our friends, and my workplace for supporting us through this season. It was a rough but rewarding year. We walk away all a little more patient, understanding, and with more room in our hearts.

My dad was always proud of me, but I know showing up for his Princess and her mom would have meant more to him than any other accomplishment of mine. ❤️ by @krissyleads

This past Saturday, I had the privilege of crowning my successor, Nicole Hahn, as Miss Asia USA California 2026 👑✨❤️

Nicole is a smart, talented, and driven young woman currently studying at Boston University where she’s made the Dean’s List! She represented Korea with beauty, grace, and a vibrant spirit, all while balancing her academic excellence.

Fun fact: When Nicole’s crown accidentally broke during practice, I was able to lend her one of mine until her official crown arrived… and then I had the honor of crowning her with her titled crown, myself!

Congratulations, Nicole. I couldn’t have asked for a better successor. You are a shining example of beauty paired with brilliance. Cheers to an incredible reigning year ahead! ✨ taken in Los Angeles, California by @krissyleads

The crown may soon rest, but my love for California and the community that carried me will forever shine. 👑

I’m thankful to California for giving me love, strength, and purpose. 💫 What I love most is its incredible diversity and the spirit of equity and inclusion that embraces every community. Despite our differences, we find common ground, support one another, and keep chasing our dreams. Let’s continue to shine brighter together!

They say being chatty can take you far… and it’s true, but only if your words have purpose. One person can make a difference, but a team can make a miracle! ❤️ It has been an incredible honor to lead the smallest and youngest sector at @hopeofthevalley , Communications; comprising a 27-year-old manager and two 26-year-old digital and data coordinators (gotta flex the team real quick 😉). Our team in Development plays a vital role in raising vital funding for life-saving resources for over 2,800 men, women, and children facing poverty, hunger, and homelessness.

I began my journey at Hope in a corner cubicle, searching for a decent hand-me-down office chair 😂. Initially contracted for social media, I soon became Hope’s first full-time social media coordinator, then progressed to digital content coordinator, and eventually became Communications Manager. Wearing many hats, I have had the REWARDING opportunity to represent the unseen and unheard, as well as the tireless advocates who fight for those in need!

Some of my fondest memories in California were made alongside my coworkers, donors, and volunteers at the Mission. I have poured my heart and soul into this work! While I am saddened to leave a place and mission I care so deeply about, I am excited to embark on a new chapter in my career. I’ll still be around to help where I can, but boy what a hard see ya later 🫠 Thank you to everyone who has made the past four years unforgettable. Hope the Mission celebrated AAPI Heritage Month with Pho Night ✨ Families at the Woodlands got to enjoy an evening of Vietnamese Pho provided by @usa.vifon, ice cream, and face painting! Staff and volunteers were able to serve dinner to our entire family shelter 🙏 We are incredibly grateful to VIFON for their generous donation, and to Hope staff and volunteers for making this night possible 🤗 taken in Los Angeles, California by @krissyleads
