🌈❤️ PRIDE. PURPOSE. ADVOCACY. ACTION.

Today, I had the privilege of volunteering with Moms Demand Action at Honolulu Pride, standing alongside an incredible community of advocates committed to creating awareness, inspiring action, and saving lives from gun violence.

With recent school lockdowns and threats here in Hawaiʻi, and the heartbreaking tragedy this week at an elementary school in Bend, Oregon, the urgency of this mission has never felt more personal.

Our children deserve to feel safe. Safe in their classrooms. Safe in their communities. Safe to grow, learn, love, and simply BE children 🫶 without the fear and trauma of gun violence.

Gun violence is the leading cause of death for children and teens in America. Let that sink in. 💔

We cannot become numb to these tragedies. We cannot accept them as normal. Awareness matters. Advocacy matters. ACTION matters.

And today, amid the beautiful celebration of love, acceptance, and equality at Honolulu Pride, I felt another presence with me. My dear Amanda. ❤️

I know she would have been so proud to see me advocating for both PRIDE and Moms Demand Action two causes rooted in protecting lives, embracing humanity, and standing up for one another.

And just when I needed her, there she was… a beautiful rainbow stretching across the Hawaiian sky. 🌈

A little reminder that love never leaves us, and that even in the face of heartbreak, there is still light, hope, and purpose.

As the midterm elections approach, I encourage everyone to remember that our voices matter and so do our votes.

If you cannot volunteer, donate, or advocate in person, please take the time to educate yourself on the issues and VOTE.

Our children need our courage. Our communities need our compassion. And our future needs us to show up.

Six months since you left us, and every day I find you in the great returning.

I see you in my dreams. I see you in the rising sun, in the sky, in the wind, in the ocean. I see you in the beauty of nature and feel you all around me.

You were supposed to be here with me this weekend. I should have been waiting for you as you stepped off the plane. I should have received one of your hugs. We should have been sharing this extraordinary Hawaiian beauty together watching the sunrise, breathing in the salt air, and making new memories side by side.

And while you are no longer here beside me in the way I so desperately wish you were, I believe you are still with me 🌺forever part of everything beautiful, watching over us from above.

Happy birthday to my beautiful friend, Elle. 💛

Thirty years of friendship of watching each other grow, expand, stretch, stumble, discover, and become. From our earliest adventures to sailing trips, island getaways, and now this unforgettable week together in Maui, I’m so grateful for every chapter we’ve shared.

There is a special kind of magic in a friendship that has lasted through decades one where you can pick up wherever you left off, laugh until your stomach hurts, explore somewhere new, sit quietly watching a sunset, and still feel completely understood. That is the gift of a kindred spirit.

This Maui adventure felt like another beautiful reminder of just how lucky I am to walk through life with a friend like you sharing the beauty, the wonder, the laughter, the ocean, and all those little moments that somehow become the memories we hold onto most.

Elle, you continue to inspire me in so many ways in how you love, how you show up for the people in your life, how fully you live, and how you bring joy and light into every room you enter.

Here’s to 30 years of friendship, to all the places we’ve been, and to all the adventures still waiting for us.

We got lucky once again. Hurricane Lolo passed by the islands this weekend. We didn’t have power and some road closures from brush fires. Blessed that we are safe.

What do you do when you have no power, no Wi-Fi, and no cell service for 24 hours?

You become present. 🌺 And watch the palm trees dance 🌴

You put the phone down, listen to the ocean, watch the palms sway, and sit in awe as the sun slips into the Pacific over beautiful Kapalua Bay. 🌅

Sometimes being completely disconnected is exactly what you need to reconnect with the moment, with the people around you, and with just how beautiful this world can be.

No signal. No distractions. Just Maui magic. ✨🌴

Some chapters are about chasing what’s next. Others are about looking around and realizing how much beauty is already here. 🌺

Grateful for this life, this island, the people I love, and all the unexpected twists that somehow keep leading me exactly where I’m supposed to be. There’s still plenty I’m figuring out, plenty I’m dreaming about, and probably way too much I’m trying to organize at once… but today, I’m choosing sunshine, salt air, and gratitude.

Sometimes the answer to a prayer shows up as two girlfriends ready to kick off their shoes and dance in the sand. 💛

Erin and Kristie, what a gift to have found each other. From heart-to-hearts to laughing ourselves silly, we’ve been soaking up Oʻahu’s beautiful beaches, dreaming about what we’re here to do, and remembering how good it feels to PLAY.

Beneath a sacred canopy of trees, surrounded and protected by the strength of the koa, we stepped barefoot onto the cool forest floor soft with emerald ferns and alive with the breath of the ʻāina.

The crisp air, the birdsong, and the healing wai cascading from above washed over me like a blessing cleansing away all that no longer serves me and opening my heart to a higher vibration. I could feel the mana of this beautiful place rising through my bare feet, nourishing my spirit and bringing me home to myself.

To share this moment with those I love held by the forest, embraced by the falling water, and wrapped in the protection of the trees was pure medicine for the soul. Mahalo, ʻāina, for cleansing us, restoring us, and reminding us that we are always held. 🌿💧✨ by @krissysgonecoconuts
