Dropping a little Ram Dass knowledge out today with my art. I found the teachings of Ram Dass very helpful to me throughout my lifelong journey. Highly recommend him to anyone who needs a little peace, calm and equanimity in these trying times. “Ahhh sooo.” #ramdass #meaningoflife #philosophy #spirituality #creator by @krissywhiski

These two original paintings have officially found their way to York, to be part of “Arborescence,” an exhibition celebrating trees, art, and the natural world.

Nearly 40 artists and more than 50 works of art, all inspired by something we walk past every day but rarely stop long enough to truly appreciate.

I love the idea of these two hanging together. One in the golden abundance of autumn, the other in the quiet surrender of winter. Two seasons, two very different kinds of beauty, the same beautiful old apple tree, a reminder of change, and the beauty found in different phases.

The exhibition opens this First Friday, November 6, from 5–8 PM, and I’d love for you to experience the art in person.

Both of my paintings are original 12 × 16” and are available for purchase. I especially love the thought of them finding a home together, but each has its own story to tell.

If you’re in the York area, come spend an evening surrounded by art, meet some of the artists, and perhaps find a happy little tree of your own.

Art isn’t just what I do, it’s part of who I am. I pour my heart, soul, and years of experience into every painting, hoping something I’ve created will find its way into someone else’s life and hold meaning for them.

Building a sustainable livelihood as an artist isn’t easy. While compliments, followers, and opportunities mean so much, it’s the people who choose to live with my work who make the greatest difference.

If you’ve ever connected with one of my paintings, I’d love for you to consider making it part of your home. Every original collected helps me support my family and continue growing as a working artist.

You can explore my available paintings at krissywhiski.com, and I’m always happy to answer questions or help you find a piece that speaks to you.

Thank you for seeing, sharing, and supporting what I create. 💗 by @krissywhiski

“Only a few, who remain children at heart, can ever find that fair, lost path again. The world calls them its singers, artists, poets, and story-tellers but they are just people who have not forgotten”.- L.M. Montgomery

Dangerously Awake is a painting about the moment we begin to see things for what they truly are. The leopard moth is a symbol of consequence. The foxglove, both medicine and poison, reminds us that beauty and danger often coexist. And at the center, an open eye—a quiet refusal to look away.
This piece is about discernment, awakening, and the courage to question what we’ve been taught to trust.

I create art for people who want more than decoration. I want my paintings to drip with meaning, invite curiosity and spark conversations.

If this piece speaks to something in you, perhaps it’s meant to be yours.

Dangerously Awake is a one of a kind original artwork from my Pretty Poison botanical series, it’s painted on on 1.5” deep canvas, measuring 8 × 8 inches. Sides are painted and ships ready to hang. She’s available on my website for $200 plus sales tax. Shipping is included within the contiguous US. International shipping quoted after purchase. Website link in my bio.
