So much happening at the Kinsey Wright Foundation, and we are so grateful!

The heart of this Foundation is simple: no family should have to walk through the death of a child or sibling alone.

We’re already connecting families with trusted grief support, helping remove barriers to counseling, and coming alongside families in the moments when they need it most. We’ve already referred families for support, with one seeing a KWF trained counselor this week.

We’re building something that we hope will be a lasting source of support for families in our community — and we can’t do it alone.

Our Kinsey Wright Foundation Pickleball Tournament is officially underway! We’re currently looking for sponsors who want to help us continue this work and make it possible for us to reach more families.

If you own a business, know someone who might want to partner, or simply want to help us spread the word, please reach out, share this post, or send someone our way.

Every dollar raised helps us say to another family:

You don’t have to walk this road alone.

For Kinsey. For families. For hope. 🧡🩷 by @krista.wright.7

Every year, we hike in honor of Kinsey. 🩷🧡

This year, we decided to make it a little harder—TWO summits in one day: Grays Peak + Torreys Peak.

And honestly… it was hard. Harder than the last two years. Two summits will do that. 😂 But the mountain wasn’t the hardest part. This year has been.

As we climbed, I listened to Psalm 18:

“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer… my refuge.”

And once again, God reminded me that He doesn’t have to take away the hard to be gracious. He simply meets us in the middle of it and gives us the strength to take the next step.

So we climbed.

One step. Then another.

Grays. Then Torreys.

Two summits. One very tired body. 😂 And one very grateful heart.

Every year, we climb for Kinsey. But this year, I think I climbed for me, too.

God is gracious. He is my Rock. And He is still leading me up the mountain. 🩷🧡#kwf by @krista.wright.7

For those of you who have been following the saga of my lost bag… she found her way home tonight. 😂🧳

And let me tell you, she has had quite the vacation of her own. From what I can tell, she has sat in the airport in Paris multiple times, traveled to Rome, Marseille, Atlanta, and a few other places I couldn’t identify. At one point, she had six different bag tags attached to her.

The Delta Air Lines and Air France systems for communicating about lost baggage are broken. I received ZERO updates from Delta and ZERO updates from Air France. With the number of different tags on my bag, there was no way I could have known where it actually was.

Turns out, my bag had been sitting at Tulsa International Airport since Saturday… and not one person called.

In fact, we have called every day since Thursday, leaving a message each time, and never received a single return call.

The ONLY reason I have my bag tonight is because a family member (thank you Hollie Kinnecom) reached out to a friend who works for Delta and shared my story with him. After two days of deep diving and tracking down information, he was the one who finally found the most recent bag tag and discovered that my bag was sitting at Tulsa International.

I honestly wonder how long it would have sat there if it weren’t for him.

Thank you, Jonathan Williams. You didn’t have to help, but you chose to. Delta is lucky to have you as an employee. ❤️

Now… off to unpack my bag and wash my clothes.

And yes, I will be sleeping much better tonight knowing my girl is finally home. by @krista.wright.7

Apparently, my luggage decided it needed an extended European vacation. 🙃✈️

It’s now been 17 days since I’ve seen my bags, and I understand they have been located, but they still have not been returned to me. I’ve filed my reports and have been actively trying to get updates, but I desperately need someone to help get them moving and home.

Delta Air Lines and Air France — can someone please help me get my luggage back? Please DM me so I can provide my baggage claim information. At this point, I would be very grateful for a little urgency! 🙏 by @krista.wright.7

One thousand.
One thousand sunrises I’ve awakened to without you.
One thousand sunsets that have come and gone while I wished for just one more with you.
One thousand mornings without hearing your voice.
One thousand nights without hugging you goodnight.
One thousand days since I’ve seen your smile, heard your laugh, or watched you walk through our door.
A thousand. It feels like both a lifetime and a blink of an eye.
For me these thousand days have been marked by longing. By birthdays, holidays, milestones, and ordinary Tuesdays that all carried the ache of your absence.
But for you, one thousand days means you’ve seen the face of Jesus. That your faith has become sight. You’ve experienced joy untouched by pain. You’ve known perfect peace and perfect love. While I have counted the days without you, heaven has been counting the days with you.
I can’t help but think about Psalm 84:10:
“Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere.”
That thought doesn’t remove the ache. I still miss you with every part of who I am. I would give anything to see your smile one more time or hear you laugh uncontrollably with your friends. Or to watch you save one more goal on the soccer field.
But today I also recognize if there have been one thousand days since I last saw you…
Then there are one thousand fewer days until I see you again.
So today, I grieve AND I hope.
Because death did not get the final word.
Jesus did.
One thousand days have separated us here on earth.
But one day that number will no longer matter. It will simply become part of our story, because eternity has no calendar.
One thousand days without you.
One thousand days closer to you.
And forever with Jesus.

I wrote a longer reflection on our Fourth of July weekend in Scottsdale on the Kinsey Wright Foundation Facebook page.

But the lesson God gave me on Camelback Mountain can be summed up in five words.

Stay close to The Rock.

NYC one weekend and the middle of nowhere the next. ❤️

We have had the best time celebrating 26 years of marriage over the past few weeks.

Our trip to New York City was full of laughs, shopping, exploring, and making memories together. NYC was one of Kinsey’s favorite places, so we decided it was the perfect place to celebrate what should have been her graduation. We rode bikes through Central Park, took a sunset ferry, went to a Mets game, and watched Damon hit every fragrance store he could find. He was like a kid in a candy store, and getting to see his excitement never gets old. He also did 2 in studio Peloton classes!

This weekend looked completely different. We took 32 hours away and headed to the Oklahoma Panhandle. We hiked Black Mesa, taking in the beauty of a landscape so different from home, then crossed into New Mexico to hike Capulin Volcano. Standing on top of both, surrounded by the vastness of God’s creation, I couldn’t help but be reminded of the vastness of His love for us.

What I loved most about both trips wasn’t where we went—it was who I got to share them with. Over the last 26 years, Damon has been my greatest gift. He loves me so well. Over the last 2.5 years, he has been my rock, my safe place, and my biggest source of laughter, even on the hardest days. He leads our family with faith, loves our children fiercely, and remains the steady hand when life feels anything but steady.

Happy Anniversary to us. ❤️ by @krista.wright.7

There are many things these girls have done over the past 950 days that would have made Kinsey proud, but tonight may have topped them all.

These three beautiful girls planned a dinner, bought the groceries, and cooked for us — and they made Kinsey’s big brother’s favorite: fettuccine alfredo and chocolate chip pizookie.

We are so incredibly grateful for our bonus daughters and the love they pour into our family. They even got to do a little fragrance testing with Damon tonight too.

Thank you, girls. We love you! 🩷🧡 by @krista.wright.7

Mother’s Day looks different than I ever imagined, but one thing that has never changed is how deeply I love my babies.

Kade — I see you. I see you fighting every single day. So much of life has not been easy for you, yet you keep showing up. I can’t help but believe the story God is writing for your life is going to change lives. I love you more than words can hold.

Kinsey — 19 days before you entered the gates of Heaven, you wrote a sidewalk chalk message for the runners at St. Jude: “This is tough, but you are tougher.” That message wasn’t meant for me that day, but for the last 935 days, it has carried me through.

To both my babies — I have never done this motherhood thing perfectly, but you will always get my best. And on the tough days, I promise to keep fighting for you. ❤️🧡🩷 by @krista.wright.7
