The day is finally here...

My new book, “Move Anyway,” is officially out in the world!!! 🤗 I’m equal parts excited, nervous, and deeply grateful.

This started as a bunch of sticky notes, voice memos, and late-night journal entries. Now it’s a real book. A book for the overthinkers, the perfectionists, the people who are tired of waiting for the “right” time to begin. If that’s you, I see you! Two weeks ago, I shared that I wrote a book. What I didn’t say… is I almost didn’t put my name on it.

“Move Anyway” started as a simple e-book. But once I realized how personal it was, how many stories I was finally putting on paper, I panicked. I actually told my team that maybe I should publish it under a different name. Because what if people judged me? What if they saw too much?

That’s what perfectionism does. It convinces you to shrink. To filter. To perform. Even when the real story is the one that could help someone else.

I had to remind myself: I’m not perfect. I’m real. And that’s more than enough.

“Move Anyway” comes out October 10th. I’ll be sharing more soon, but just know: it’s me in there. Fully.

One thing about being a hairstylist is that you meet some truly amazing people along the way. 🤎

At my salon, my clients face the mirror, giving me the opportunity to truly connect with them. Some come and go, some keep coming back, and some become lifelong friends.

Krista became so much more than a friend. She’s been there through my darkest moments, helped me with my children, wiped my tears, and loved me through it all. I used to tell her, “God sent me an angel when He sent me you.” 🤍👼🏽

After all the tears, laughter, and prayers, true love found her! 🥹

To see someone who has poured so much love into others finally receive that same love is beautiful.

I’m beyond happy for you, my friend. May God continue to bless your union.

I was not prepared. Like… at all 😅

It was our normal Tuesday night date night...I had no clue what he really had in store.

One minute I’m living my normal life, and the next — I’m standing there, completely caught off guard, trying to process what’s happening… and realizing this is one of those moments you don’t get to overthink.

No time to analyze.
No time to make it make sense.

Just shock.
Then excitement.
Then this overwhelming feeling of oh… this is real.

And somehow, in the middle of all of that—the easiest answer I’ve ever given:

Yes 💍

I’ve spent years talking about bold decisions, not overthinking, and choosing without having every detail figured out…

Turns out, sometimes life gives you a moment where you actually have to live it.

And this one?
This one felt like me choosing something I was already ready for...a decision I didn't have to question.

Still smiling. Still in disbelief. Still so, so grateful ❤️

Thank you to @uchirestaurants @casamaradc and the entire management team & marketing team for being in on the surprise! I'm forever grateful and cannot wait for the grand opening of Uchi DC so that we can come back & celebrate.

P.S. The last two slides are actually true! We celebrated this past NYE hosted by our friends Branden & Sofia and that introduced us to this Colombian tradition. Plot twist...it worked! by @kristadstepney

When's the last time you stopped to ask yourself: “Where am I right now?”

This International Women’s Day + Women’s History Month, I had the honor of leading a fireside chat + interactive session with a room full of powerful women, and we didn’t just talk about growth…

We paused long enough to assess it.

1) Where are you in your self-love right now?
2) What kind of support are you actually surrounded by?
3) Is your current community helping you survive this season… or silently draining you?

Because here’s the truth:
You can’t make a bold move from a place you haven’t fully acknowledged.

Through real-time exercises, these women got honest about where they are, not where they “should” be.

And that kind of awareness?
That’s where movement begins.

Not perfect. Not polished. Just present.

Huge thank you to Highlight Experiences for curating a space that allows women to see themselves clearly, and to Telly for capturing moments that feel as powerful as they were in real time.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, try this first:

Name your season.
Check your circle.
Tell the truth about where you are.

February never disappoints!

I love a birthday MONTH recap....such a sacred month of honoring my ancestors, loving my person, celebrating with loved ones (some who also share this birth month), and most importantly pouring back into ME.

So grateful for all the birthday texts, calls, wishes and for those who spent one of the days celebrating with me. I danced, tried new things, kissed my Valentine, and relaxed!!

This birthday wasn't just about aging. It was about not carrying what I’ve outgrown into what’s next. A few fears, habits, people, and old narratives got a respectful, “thank you… but you can go.” I kept the wisdom and released the weight.

February was about alignment, movement, and trusting the woman I’ve become. I’m stepping into my best chapter yet — and like I always say, I move anyway (literally 😉).

Before you say “I don’t have enough,”
do an Abundance Audit.

You might not have everything.
But you probably have more than you think.

Count your skills.
Count your relationships.
Count your unique talents.
Count your access.

Stop disqualifying yourself before you even try. Shift from a scarcity mindset, so that you can use what's already in your hands!

You don’t need more to begin.
You need courage to move with what you already have. Bold Moves Only!

I don’t need to zoom in on anyone else’s path to stay confident in mine.

Just because you can see someone else’s progress doesn’t mean you’re supposed to chase it. Everyone else’s journey will always be visible, but it’s not meant to be your focal point.
Stay locked in on what you are building.

Adjust your lens, because your assignment deserves clarity....so, eyes forward and keep your work steady.

What’s meant for you stays in frame.

I watched kids wipe out, get back up, and skate harder. Meanwhile, most of us adults are gripping the wall, afraid to even try.

Kids fall on skates and don’t even think twice. Adults fall once and decide they’re “not built for it."

That’s what fear of failure does. It doesn’t just stop us from failing, it stops us from living.

Somewhere along the way we forgot how to get back up and keep moving. If you've been waiting on the sidelines for the "right moment," this is it. Messy, wobbly & uncertain...but still moving.

2026 is already in motion.
The first full work week is done.
The goals, the doubts, the resolutions...they’re all on the table now.

So here’s my declaration:
I will stop waiting for the perfect moment.
I will take the step even if I feel unsure.
I will move forward anyway.

Not because I’m fearless, but because staying still costs more.

Consider this your invitation:
You don’t have to do it alone. I’m in with you.

This year doesn’t need more planning; it needs brave, ordinary moves made in community.
