It's okay to be not okay. Marking The Straits Times milestone of 180 years, I had the pleasure & challenge to animate this heartfelt Singapore story of @ahbobpapa @junlefont through animation. Jun Le is older now, and he's doing GREAT, I wanted to draw him as a child from his fathers eyes. May they sparkle always. Huge thank yous for the guidance and trust, and opportunity to attempt meaningful storytelling. Made with @procreate, edits in @adobe after effects by @kristalmelson

Over the past few months spent developing 6 Minutes, this project became more than just a comic at a bus stop. For @kristalmelson it became a chance to explore writing in a way she hadn’t really shared publicly before. (Angelina @studio29.co here) Kristal and I have known each other for AWHILE and though familiar with her art, her desire to write was one I found great joy in learning about through this process and witness come to life up close. What was really beautiful was seeing how honestly people responded to it? Everyone found their own memories and experiences in Kristal’s words, which was very fitting for a concept about how the same six minutes can mean completely different things to different people. We took some time to reflect (and cry) about this together. Please enjoy with volume! Thank you to everyone who visited and shared a little bit of yourselves with us. And thank you @uhmuhnuh for capturing our conversation so artfully and for adding your own little animated moments to it too. This brings our 6 Minutes to an end 🩷 by @kristalmelson

Our 6-year-old, Roxy, recently found out that 20 minutes is 1,200 seconds and was absolutely horrified. I've always loved how comics can stretch a moment or make years disappear between two panels. Making 6 Minutes was a way for me to explore all the strange ways time behaves. We also asked visitors to draw what six minutes meant to them. Thank you to everyone who contributed! 🩷 6 Minutes is at the bus stop outside Blk 154 along Yishun Ave 2 until 31st Oct. Come have a look if you've got six minutes to spare. by @kristalmelson
A @supershort__ recap of last night’s exhibition opening of 6 Minutes by @kristalmelson! This beautiful video was shot and edited by Bec Lim (@antibecterial) who attended last night’s bus stop festivities. (Angelina here @studio29.co) Bec is a former student of mine and one of the many visitors who showed up despite the haze to celebrate @kristalmelson and the launch of her comic! Kristal is an artist I speak about fondly in my classrooms, so this surprise by Bec feels all the more meaningful ❤️ Thank you all for spending more than 6 minutes with us! More photos and videos to come as we marinate in our feels from all the love we have been receiving! __ “6 Minutes” looks at how differently we experience time. 6 minutes is 6 minutes, but it can feel completely different depending on what we’re going through, what we’re waiting for or where our minds are at. Set against the countdown of an arriving bus, the work looks at the space between time on the clock and time as we experience it, and how some of these moments only take on meaning after they’ve passed. 📍 Bus Stop 59091- Blk 154, along Yishun Ave 2 📅 16th -31st October 2026, all day A comic by @kristalmelson Curated by @studio29.co As part of @supershort__ In collaboration with @ourplayces as part of the Playces Public Board Project by @kristalmelson

Two Saturdays of hawking our goodies 🥲 Thank you to everyone who came by, said hi, bought a print, sticker, or something we made. Special mention to Miles, who made his sticker-selling debut and may now believe this is a viable career path. We could see how proud he was of his stickers, and were so so touched by how much warmth and love everyone showed him 🥲❤️ Very tired, hearts very full. Would do again. Just maybe not next Saturday. Thank u @heartware.store and @superfuncollective for having us! ❤️ @kjcba_sg for opening up our neighborhood to so many people by @kristalmelson
