For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to be a mom. When Bill & I got married in November 2020, I was 36 & so excited to start growing our family. After working so hard to heal my body & regain my health, I assumed becoming pregnant would happen quickly. It didn’t.Month after month brought another negative test, another disappointment, & another quiet grief that so many women carry but rarely talk about. In 2025, we completed three rounds of IUI that ended in heartbreak. When we began considering IVF, we prayed constantly for God’s direction. We asked Him for a feather at our back door if IVF was the path we were meant to take.We had lived in our home since 2015 & had never found a feather there. Then, within a week, we found three perfect dove feathers.Father, Son, & Holy Spirit. We haven’t found another feather since. In September 2025, we began our IVF journey with CCRM in Colorado. There were countless appointments, prayers, injections, tears, & moments of wondering if we were strong enough to keep going. In February 2026, I underwent my first egg retrieval. In April 2026, we transferred an embryo.& today, with hearts fuller than we can put into words, we’re overjoyed to share that we’re expecting!Baby Allen is due at the very beginning of January 2027. 🤍If you’re walking through infertility, pregnancy loss, or the ache of waiting, please know I see you & I honor your story. After years of hoping, praying, grieving, trusting, & waiting, our little miracle is finally on the way.God’s timing is rarely our timing, but His faithfulness has carried us every step of the journey. Baby Allen, you have been loved long & prayed over before we ever met you. ❤️🫶📸 by @annadouglass.photography by @kristen_ley

When making career decisions, we add so much unnecessary pressure when we tell ourselves this is a “forever” job. In our episode with Kristen Ley, we talked a lot about how different careers may suit us in different seasons. It’s so freeing when instead of saying, “is this what I want to do forever,” we ask, “is this best for me right now?”Be sure to listen to Episode 3 of Moore on That with Kristen Ley, at the link in our bio!Thank you to our presenting sponsor, @mycommbank. by @kristen_ley

Kristen Ley built a massively successful business and then decided to walk away. Through her stationary and gift shop, @thimblepress, Kristen has seen her work in Target, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters and more. She’s even been featured on Oprah! But all of this success came at the cost of her mental and physical health.A couple of years ago, Kristen started to experience burnout. She knew something had to change. She closed her physical shop (though you can still shop online) and took a step back to focus on her health and wellness. She started being intentional about the food she was consuming, the products she was using, and the pace at which she was living. While she still licenses her artwork, she no longer feels pressure to grow her brand or prove herself. She is now the Senior Social Media Manager for @branchbasics, a safe cleaning company she has become passionate about. Kristen is one of the most generous people you will “meet,” always turning around to pull others up the ladder with her. Here’s Moore on That with Kristen Ley! Because what’s a family photo session without a little💩?😂Willow (15, thriving and doing whatever she wants) decided to take a mid-shoot 💩 and @rfollowell caught every moment.🤣Henry stayed glued to me. William was a champ. And Bill and I just laughed because… honestly? This is our past year and family in a nutshell.Bless Robby 📸 for being the real MVP. ✨I can’t wait to show all the other photos Robby snapped! Amazing and so talented as always! Thank goodness Bill had 💩bags in his truck. by @kristen_ley

Our last day in Denver, @billallen74 had the awesome idea to explore @rockynps and it didn’t disappoint! The aspen leaves were showing out 🍁🍂 and the weather was fantastic. We did get a little blizzard around 12,000+ feet elevation, but thankfully we packed jackets. If you know us, you know we love nature and National Parks, so this was a sweet ending to our week in Denver. Plus it was nice to get some steps in with some hikes! 🙌 by @kristen_ley

Happy 10 Years, @goodgritmag! 🎉 Tonight was such a joy celebrating this milestone with a porch party at @catheaddistillery!I first met @laura_l_quick back in 2018 through mutual friends, and her passion for Good Grit today shines just as brightly as it did then when she first told me about her vision. In 2019, I was truly honored to share my story in the BEHOLDEN issue of @goodgritmag. @ashealo captured it beautifully with her words, and @andrewwelchphoto took some of my favorite photos to this day.Laura, I’m so proud of you and your incredible team for the world you’ve built, the stories you tell, and the way you celebrate the beauty, grit, and soul of the South. Here’s to many more decades of inspiration with @goodgritmag! ✨ by @kristen_ley

One year without her.A whole year without her hugs, her laugh, her voice on the other end of the phone. A year without her Sunday texts asking what time we were all meeting at church.A year without her sticky notes of scripture tucked in unexpected places.Without her curiosity, her questions, her “just checking in” texts, her prayers.A year that’s felt impossibly long and heartbreakingly fast all at once. It’s been one year since my mom went to be with Jesus while on a beach trip with her best friends. She was 64. She was vibrant, hilarious, deep, creative, stylish, full of wisdom and wit, and loved people so deeply. She was my best friend. My safe place. My biggest encourager. She loved well — with intention, joy, and faith — and she made people feel seen and known.I miss her fiercely. I carry her with me in everything. And even in the ache, I know she is more alive than ever — worshiping at the feet of Jesus. That’s the hope I hold onto when the grief feels unbearable.Mom, I love you. I miss you every day. And I’ll keep living a life that points back to Him, just like you taught me. 💛 by @kristen_ley
