Helping women at a midlife crossroads find their Midlife Click! 💫 Bold Moves Mastermind now open. Join us👇

POSTS STORIES REELS

And that doesn’t mean you’re having a midlife crisis; it means you’re in a new season, and ready to discover your Midlife Click!

For years, I built a pragmatic career. But deep down, I kept hearing the whisper: I want to be the one holding the mic, leading bold conversations that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

The reason most high-achieving women stay stuck with that whisper is fear: you assume following a dream means blowing up the life you spent decades building.

You don’t have to blow up your life to make room for your dream.

That’s why I created the Bold Moves Mastermind, a dedicated space for women ready to explore their next chapter, using my career and life design framework, without risking their current foundation.

Want to learn more about designing your next bold move alongside a room of high-achieving women in your corner?

Check out the Mastermind details and application info linked in my bio! by @kristenrocco

Say it out loud!

What dream do you keep saying someday to? by @kristenrocco

Eight hours of sleep and still waking up with jet lag level fatigue?

That is what Kristen Rocco is noticing at the start of her perimenopause transition. Her mood fluctuates more than it used to too, and she is asking the question many women ask: is this perimenopause or just a bad week?

In this episode of Menopause Unmuted Kristen shares the layoff that led to her own bold move and what she learned about giving herself permission instead of waiting for someone else to give it. We also talk about the guilt and limiting beliefs that keep women from acting on a shift they already sense and how perimenopause can affect ambition and work performance.

OOO: touching the Adriatic Sea at Lama Monachile, Puglia Italy.

I recently read this quote about how traveling opens up your mind so when you return home you’re not the same person. I feel this every time I step outside of my norm. It’s the most alive I feel. I’m so grateful I get to collect experiences like this one that remind me life is meant to be lived fully. 🌎

Bold moves = designing a career that fulfills you.

Last week, I led a session called “Storytelling at Work: The Hidden Neuroscience of Career Momentum” at the State of Employment in Tech event in Atlanta on an intersection of my work that transpired because of Bold Moves!!

I shared my idea for Bold Moves at Work with a group of HR leaders and a few days later, a new friend from the group messaged me and said “you know that idea you were talking about? Well, what if you led a session on it at my upcoming event?!”

That was a big Hell Yes from me!!

I gave the talk last week and couldn’t have gotten better reception that it really hit a sweet spot.

Have you gotten an opportunity that transpired only because of the bold move you made? Tell me about it!

Speaking of, I’m looking for 6 women who are ready to map out their next chapter, whether that’s a career pivot, starting a business or creative project, or anything else that has been on their "someday" list.

You don't need a fully formed plan—just the knowing that you're ready for a change. This Mastermind gives you the structure, accountability, and peer support to get honest about what you really want and map out your next move with confidence—alongside a community of women who get exactly where you are because they’re right there too.

Link to learn more is in my bio! Join us! 💪

Have you ever tucked a dream away in favor of building a pragmatic career?

I have.

Growing up, I saw myself becoming a broadcast journalist just like Katie Couric; I really admired her.
But along the way, I chose the path that naturally presented itself to me.

I thought if I worked hard enough, earned the next promotion, and checked every box, someone would see my potential and grant me permission to do the thing that lights me up.

It never did come – until I took the mic for myself.

Real talk is the name of the game in this episode of my podcast. It’s just me behind the mic, and I share how my career story began as a little girl watching ESPN with my dad, the chaotic, messy middle of actually navigating corporate life, and how it ended in my own midlife click.

Learning to choose myself changed the way I approach my career today, and I want you to know that you have permission to choose yourself, too.

Comment PERMISSION and I’ll DM you the episode “My Layoff at 39, My Career Change Story, and Why I Built the Bold Moves Mastermind” or find it wherever you listen to podcasts!

Now - What “someday” dream have you tucked away for later? Did you eventually get to it? Start a new project? Launch a business? Pursue a creative hobby? Tell me about it!

At 39, I realized I’d spent my entire career asking the wrong question: “What do others want from me?”

I finally flipped the script and started asking: “What do I want?”

I’ll be honest: it slowed things down. Instead of jumping on the next opportunity, I carefully weighed whether it fed what I liked to do rather than just what I was good at. Pulling apart the threads of an old operating model is tough. I sat with big questions until the answers felt real: What are my values? What am I curious about? How do I define success? How do I want to feel?

When you’re burned out, tired, and feeling stuck in your career, the right next question to ask is “What do I want?” not “What do others want from me?”

@with.dr.helen joins me on Bold Moves: How Did You Know this week, to share career fulfillment research and introduce her MOVE framework to help women break through barriers and design a career aligned with their true life goals from her new book, Closing the Fulfillment Gap.

She shares practical career change tips to help you bridge the gap between where you are and the career fulfillment you deserve.

Put it this episode in your queue for your commute; put it on while you’re throwing that load into the laundry and doing the dishes, or while you’re getting in your workout.

Comment LISTEN and I’ll send this episode directly to you–and believe me, it’s not one you want to miss. by @kristenrocco

A few weeks ago, @allison__hare hosted a screening of Reshma Saujani’s documentary, “No Country for Mothers,” followed by a BOLD conversation about the film’s premise: why US mothers lack support systems and how mothers are often pitted against each other in the choice between career and family.

I walked away with a greater belief that ambition isn’t confined to just one definition. You can be ambitious as a caretaker of your kids and you can be ambitious as a leader in the office. We shouldn’t judge where a woman puts her ambition. And we shouldn’t think more or less of someone because of what they choose.

You can’t watch #NoCountryforMothers on any streaming service. @reshmasaujani designed it that way. She wanted women to watch the film together in local communities all around the US so they would come together to discuss the themes, have the debates, and, little by little, change would spark.

Grateful to Allison for hosting our screening. If you’re interested in hosting your own, visit Moms First on the web. by @kristenrocco

I have a one-degree connection to Gloria Steinem and through that window, I’ve experienced her magic. Her warmth, approachability, openness, curiosity, and humility.

Several friends in NYC have been invited into Gloria’s living room for intimate conversations to discuss and debate ideas. My window into these conversations were recap posts and lived experiences from friends who attended. Those photos and conversations revealed something deeper about who she was that you can’t get beyond the headlines: Gloria touched the lives of everyone she met.

I talk a lot about needing to give ourselves permission to claim what we want and go after it. Honestly, Gloria made that happen for women through her advocacy, organizing, and championing of women’s rights.

I’m sad we lost a legend, but I’m grateful for the trail she blazed. The world is better for it. I’m better for it.

When Orpah asked her what she’s most proud of, she answered, “I haven’t done it yet.” She explained that she has so many more hopes for the future.

Now, it’s up to us to carry that torch. by @kristenrocco
