pov when you’ve got thousands of miles to migrate and no time to waste

i’m not sure if these are semipalmated plovers or sanderlings, but both of these bird species travel thousands of miles each year to breed up north, then retreat from the arctic temps and enjoy their winters down south. so fun watching these cuties run along the shores of massachusetts during a pit stop on their journeys. their long, black beaks make me think they’re sanderlings, but if anyone knows for sure, i would love to hear in the comments 🐦‍⬛

ʟɪᴍᴜʟᴜꜱ ᴘᴏʟʏᴘʜᴇᴍᴜꜱ ✨

hey y’all, i’ve been deep into a recent fascination with horseshoe crabs and figured i’d give a shot at some story telling. i used to be petrified of these critters and upon stumbling on this shell in the woods, i decided to let curiosity take the wheel instead of fear. turns out these chelicerates are completely harmless, support entire ecosystems and play major roles in protecting human health. alsoooo, they’re not even crabs! they are more closely related to spiders & scorpions. with it being earth day, i felt it was right to share my reel in hopes it offers us a small reminder to pause and be curious of the world around us. nothing exists in isolation. when we tend to the living world, we’re tending to our own 🫶
