On Monday night, we opened the doors to the Garden Terrace and poured some summer wines for another session of Wythe Draw.

Artists and friends from the community arrived with pencils, watercolors, markers, and sketchbooks, many meeting for the first time or reuniting with one another from previous sessions. En plein air, we gathered around figure model and performance artist Reed Rushes (@reedrushes) as STAN, painted in a striking silver.

Huge thank you to artists and organizers Tamara Gonzales (@tamaragonzales), Karen Lederer (@krlederer), Loren Erdrich (@okloren), and Wythe Curator Alessandra Gómez (@alessandrrraaa) for leading an evening of inspiration. We love any reason to welcome artists into the hotel.

I made this painting during the pandemic right before I had my first baby. I’m so grateful for all the chaos, creativity, and joy my kids have brought into my life. Seeing them take in the world has changed my own creative process and studio practice. by @krlederer
