Happy nineteenth day of summer to all who celebrate. Sunny summertime days are best enjoyed poolside, and this "Hawaiian Punch" hibiscus definitely understood the assignment. 🌱

Happy eighteenth day of summer to all who celebrate. It's back to the rose garden today for a look at "Molineux," another David Austin varietal. Named after the football stadium of the Wolverhampton Wanderers, it has a light musk scent and a beautiful butter color.

Happy sixteenth day of summer to all who celebrate. This is the "Pepita Pink" dahlia, a new addition to my garden this year. It doesn't look exactly like the picture from th4 seller, but it's still very pretty. 🌱

Happy sixteenth day of summer to all who celebrate . If you want to have flowers, you need pollinators. These coneflowers (or echinecea) are part of a larger pollinator garden with bee-friendly plants and milkweed for the Monarch butterflies. (No butterflies since I started the garden, but I remain hopeful.) 🌱

Happy fifteenth day of summer to all who celebrate. Most of my azaleas and rhododendron have long since bloomed, this one ways waits until July to be the last one to flower. It predates me living here and could actually predate ME (possibly planted in the 1950s or earlier) 🌱

Happy fourteenth day of summer to all who celebrate. There seemed no better choice for today's photo than the "Fourth of July" rose. I can't be sure, but I think there are 250 blooms on it today. 🌱 🇺🇸 🎆

Happy twelfth day of summer to all who celebrate. Today's a three-for-one kind of day. These are photos of my "Rembrandt" dahlia. Yes, the purple and white are from the same plant. Fun, right? There are also red/orange/yellow versions as well. Perhaps the p
Plant Fairy will deliver them.

Happy eleventh day of summer to all who celebrate. These are "Ballerina" zinnias that I grew from seeds this year. By day they greet me when I go to the pool. By night they scare the fox when it runs through the yard. I like a good multipurpose flower 😆 🌱

Happy tenth day of summer to all who celebrate. A little something different today. This is one of my daylilies, "Stephanie Returns." She sits an watches the pool all day like a naughty little minx. I've focused on varieties that rebloom so that the color and flowers last until the fall. 🌱

Happy ninth day of summer to all who celebrate. I beg your pardon, but I did promise you a rose garden. This is "Desdemona," another David Austin rose. It's has a strong rose fragrance and is a prolific bloomer. And yes, it is named after the Shakespeare heroine, not the font. 🌱 🌹

Happy eighth day of summer to all who celebrate. My dahlias are starting to bloom, so here's another fave. This is "Arabian Night" and the darkish red is such a beautiful shade. 🌱

Like my previous dahlia post, this gets dug up in the fall and then gets boxed up for a winter vacation in my garage. Otherwise the Pennsylvania winters would probably kill it. Weirdly, this past winter was terrible and two tubers that I missed digging up somehow survived and are growing. Nature is amazing.
