He does call Cressida his daughter when he is speaking to "that bridgerton girl."

But his disassociation combined with this mystery writing room make me wonder about his relationship to Cressida and her mother.

Could the room have belonged to Lady Cowper as a child?

The desk certainly allowed her to hone some writing skills, unlike what she afforded for her daughter.

Did she marry an older man like Cressida may be forced to do?

Then there is the greek mythology...Cressida having to do with a hostage exchange.

I wonder if that is why there are caged bird references with Cressida having feather and lock associations...

Just when I thought they had brought Cressida's story to a near close with a villain origin story, then they start to give us a window into her inside world.

I love her messy room with her pink clothes all strewn about!

So the opposite of "save the cat" is to let us just stew against our enemy, then sprinkle in some pity, some misunderstandings like when she stomped the emerald dress only for Eloise's approval.

Show her loneliness, her loss of direction, the betrayal of loved ones like her mother in this scene.

Then redeem her. The redemption story. Give us something to relate to. Give her a chance to be loved. And in being loved, she learns how to love.

And who better to bring her joy than the goofy and ever smiling Benedict. I don't always follow his story line bc I keep things PG in this house, but his warm and friendly demeanor are his best qualities, and utterly foreign sentiments to anything Cressida has ever experienced, save for a summer with the half-attention of Eloise.

She is sort of a bird of a feather with Penelope I'm realizing. Cressida being the caged bird.

I'm sure if she does find love, that she will be put to the test somehow. Likely by Peloise. I can't wait to see how things play out!

Kate Sharma is often in peacock blue and shades of purple. And even baby pink!

But what color truly represents Kate? I propose that Miss Sharma's truest color is the yellow-orange of turmeric.

But why this color, not worn by Kate until the end of the season?

The theory:

The sheffields wore light pink and light teal blue.
Lady Mary, their daughter wears a lavender (pink+teal)
Miss Edwina Sharma wears light pink (lavender+pink)
Miss Kate Sharma wears turmeric yellow-orange (pink+yellow)
Making Lord Sharma to have worn pink.
Making Lady Sharma to have worn golden yellow.

Whenever Edwina wears peach, it is Kate giving Edwina her color instead of herself. (Pink + turmeric)

And likewise, when Kate wears pink, it is bc she is putting her sister before herself. And in purple, she is wearing her sister's pink, but keeps falling for Anthony in his navy blue despite still wearing her sister's color (pink+blue)

Whenever Kate wears peacock blue, she is mixing her turmeric with Anthony's navy blue. (Yellowy-orange + navy)
They are a couple of proud peacocks, are they not?
