Saw Melissa Auf der Maur's My 90s Rock Photographs at the AGO on Monday. A fascinating and poignant commentary on the 90s, especially how it captured a pre-digital era that no longer exists. #ago #toronto #my90srockphotographs #melissaaufdermaur by @krystarobin

Spent a few weeks in my cosmopolitan hometown of Timmins.

1) Hollinger park water tower
2) The Bon Air Motel sign is decades old and never ceases to delight me
3) The sweetest and spiciest local: Fredduccio. Got to celebrate his 11th birthday in person. This little soul is going to break my heart
4) Cringe Canadiana
5) Old McIntyre mine shaft in Schumacher
6) Beautiful farm off of Dalton Rd

New art purchase: Corita Kent's Dip, 1967.
Screenprint on pellon.
Measurement: 34 1/2 x 40 1/4 (framed)

I've loved Kent's work for over 20 years now and have been making a concerted effort to collect her prints. I was beyond thrilled to discover that this work was made on pellon, an acrylic non-woven material. She experimented with this material between 1962 and 1967 and they generally make up a smaller portion in her body of work.

Cherries
when love on stilts picts its way along gravel paths and reaches the treetops i too in cherries would like to experience cherries as cherries. No longer with arms too short, with ladders on which for ever on rung, just one rung missing, to live on stewed fruit and windfalls. Sweet and sweeter, darkening; A red such a blackbirds dream--who here is kissing whom, when love reaches treetops on stilts - Günter Grass
