What a GRAND month this has been. I’m still on a cloud from this past week but I’II start from the beginning of the month.
It started off with a huge milestone. Lucas became an AKC CHAMPION! He finished his Championship with his second Major with Ryan Platt as his handler, then wasted absolutely no time moving up with the big dogs. At the Bridgewater shows, he earned beautiful recognition as Select dog for some GCH points. Not bad for a 10 month old!
Then his life got a little more “normal”. While Mom and Dad escaped to Florida, Lucas had his own little vacation being boarded and thankfully that family survived the Lucas experience for a week 😅He also continued getting out and about, including a trip to Nordstrom Rack, because obviously a Champion needs to shop.
Not only is he a stunning show dog, but he’s got brains too.
Lucas earned his Do More With Your Dog Advanced Masters trick dog title! 🤓
Then came the BIG adventure.....
The 100th DPCA National Specialty in Topeka, Kansas!!
I was already beyond proud just knowing team Lucas was there competing among so many beautiful Dobermans across the country. But the achievements (now at 11 months old) they walked away with (flying at times) .....just WOW!!
🌟Best Puppy in Sweepstakes
🌟Award of Mert in the Best of Breed at the Regional Specialty
🌟GRAND PRIZE FUTURITY WINNER🌟
We are so incredibly proud of our sweet, goofy, talented and beautiful boy. So grateful for my breeder Estelle Corr and handler Ryan Platt. Huge congratulations to you both.
Thank you for everything you have done for us, the breed and thank you to everyone who has loved, supported, trained, handled and cheered for Lucas along the way ❤️ taken in Topeka, Kansas by @kschiavo71

What a successful weekend at the LIKC dog show! At 6 months old, Lucas was a star in the ring. I’m learning about the Confirmation world (and quickly with a couple of newbie moves of mine 😬) I see and hear great things from the most respected people around me. I’m thankful for them and all the care and management they give. It was an exciting experience and Lucas had fun showing. He’s such a happy boy and I’m a proud Momma 🤗. Thank you Estelle Corr for this special boy and being there to guide us through this new journey. Ryan Platt thank you for handling him so beautifully.

LATE POST….
14+ miles of misery at the Spartan Beast on Saturday April 25th and somehow fun at the same time 🤷🏻‍♀️ 😂

I stood at the Start line already feeling the mental from the challenges ahead of me.

People are saying this was the toughest Beast/Ultra they’ve done here, and I believe it. Cold temps, rain, extra vert, slippery obstacles and mud that turned those hills into straight-up slip and slides once the rain really came down.

That bucket carry was absolute chaos. People wiping out right in front of me, hoping I wasn’t next.

I didn’t go out chasing anything. I kept it steady, ran my own pace and trusted my race… and somehow found myself on the podium 🥈

2nd place. Still wrapping my head around that one!

So grateful for my Obstacle Wonderland at Wallkill NY crew. You guys push me, support me, and make these crazy race days even more fun. Love this team! 💙 Congratulations to all of you who went out and did the damn thing and to all the volunteers who help make this happen. Can’t do it without you💪🌟

What. A. Weekend.👊

Citi Field was so much fun last week! This race was also my first in a new age group 55–59 😱 (although I’m not 55 just yet… but that’s the Spartan way lol) Aging up and still getting to stand on the podium 🥇 feels amazing.

Going into Citi Field I didn’t have huge expectations. Stair training this winter definitely wasn’t ideal thanks to snow and icy trails, but I stayed consistent with other workouts and just trusted the process.

The continued support of this community is what it’s all about. My coaches, Kevin LaPlatney , my teammates, the familiar faces at races, the encouragement on course… it’s something really special. I loved seeing the kids race. How cool is it to start so young. The Kid Strong group crushed the course 💪 🤩

Five years into this journey and I still line up feeling grateful just to be here.

I very much enjoyed the fun lap with my friends (and future Spartan!) Thank you all for the pics n vids!

Gabe Capobianchi I saw some Wonderlanders out there! I am so excited that I am part of team Obstacle Wonderland at Wallkill NY 😊❤️💙

Also, thank you Smithtown Ninja Academy!
