#149 | Adapt & Adjust: Kseniya Poznyak

Growing up in Byaroza, Belarus, sports were a big part of @kseiskse childhood. Starting with basketball, she later found her calling in volleyball due to limited opportunities in her small town. Despite initial doubts, she embraced the sport and excelled, leading her to Azerbaijan and opening doors to a world of exploration.

Competing across Europe and the Philippines, Kseniya's love for volleyball eventually took her to Canada, where she found a new purpose in mental health advocacy for athletes. After retiring, she is courageously grappling with the mental and physical adjustments of returning to a "normal life".

In our inspiring chat, she also opened up about the emotional journey of supporting her child through untapped potential and finding solace in their unique path.

Raelynn’s first birthday morning with her besties 🥹🥰
#firstbirthday❤️ #1yearold #toddler #motherhood by @kseiskse

I haven’t been okay this past week. 🥹 I’ve been going through her newborn videos, pictures, and all the little memories from this past year, and I simply refuse to understand how babies grow so fast into toddlers… 🤍

Our sweet Raelynn,

Thank you for being such a calm, sweet, happy baby throughout your entire first year. Thank you for making it a little easier on Daddy and me, especially through those long nights. Thank you for loving us so unconditionally and for choosing us to be your parents.

Watching you grow has been the most beautiful, bittersweet experience of our lives. One minute you were this tiny little newborn in our arms, and somehow, almost overnight, you became this funny, beautiful, curious little girl with such a big personality. 🥹

You are truly one of a kind, baby girl. ❤️

Happy 1st birthday Raeee we love you very much❤️ by @kseiskse

Happy 19th Birthday to my firstborn baby! 🥹❤️

Wow… I’ve been in disbelief all day.

I’ll keep this short, but I hope you always know how much we love you and how incredibly proud we are of the person you’ve become! We love you so much. ❤️ we will say all the wishes in person when you are back from your first bar hopping🤣 have fun! by @kseiskse

When life gives you lemons, they say to make lemonade…. Somehow, you’ve turned our lives into the sweetest lemonade I could have ever imagined. 🥹🤧
Happy Birthday, my love. Wishing you an amazing year ahead filled with love, happiness, laughter, and joy. Cheers to many more adventurous years and birthdays with you, Rae, and Kai together. We love you very much❤️ by @kseiskse

Rae’s and my first ever camping trip. If you know me, you know I’ve always been more on the bougie…glamping side and never imagined myself camping especially with our baby🤣. But this ended up being such a fun and special experience for us. Feeling really grateful for this time together and all the little memories we made. Definitely not our last camping trip. by @kseiskse
