She came back different. 💪

Utah Talons first baseman Bri Ellis has been named the inaugural AUSL Comeback Player of the Year following a remarkable transformation in Year 2️⃣.

Last year, Ellis arrived as the No. 2 overall pick and the reigning USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year. But the jump to pro ball humbled her. She hit just .186 across 21 games in the Talons’ championship season.
This year? A completely different story.

📈 2025: .186 AVG | .256 SLG | .649 OPS
📈 2026: .353 AVG | .765 SLG | 1.215 OPS

Ellis anchored the defending champions’ lineup as they locked up the No. 1 seed for the second straight year. She also earned a spot on the All-AUSL Team.

The highlights? She launched the Talons’ very first home run of the 2026 season on opening night at Dumke Family Softball Stadium. And on the Fourth of July, she sent Salt Lake City into a frenzy with a walk-off homer against the Carolina Blaze. 🎆

From searching for answers to becoming the heartbeat of Utah’s lineup — Bri Ellis’ comeback story is one for the books. And she’s not done yet.

The Talons open the AUSL Championship TODAY against the Chicago Bandits on ABC. 🦅

Montana Fouts has been named the 2026 AUSL Pitcher of the Year.

Fouts set FOUR AUSL single-season records:
🔥 62.1 innings pitched
🔥 63 strikeouts

She finished the regular season with a 2.36 ERA while holding opposing hitters to a .200 batting average. On June 18, she made league history with a 12-strikeout performance against the Texas Volts — the most by any pitcher in a single AUSL game, ever.

Her dominance in the circle helped guide the Talons to the No. 1 seed in the AUSL Championship for the second straight year.

She’s the second consecutive Utah pitcher to claim the award after teammate Georgina Corrick won it in 2025.
