This past summer I was reminded that curiosity of both the immense and the objects hidden by our own shadows are equally as vital to feeling a place. And just like that another season building a relationship with a couple northern rivers. I am filled with gratitude not only for being able to visit and revisit these places but also to build my own connection to place, but also facilitating a curiosity and connection to them for others. Yesterday was a pretty cool day. I was fortunate to have the homies from Canada join us down the Futa for a wee bit of training. I am feeling very grateful for the people that I am able to surround myself with, from river days in Clearwater (@interior_whitewater_rafting), to up north (@canadianriverexpeditions ) and now here in Chile(@world_patagonia ). As I am finally getting settled into an upcoming fall and new adventures on the horizon I find myself looking back on the summer I was fortunate enough to experience down the South Nahanni River. Everyday was a chance to learn, build a relationship with other guests, guides and landscape, and look around with wonder. The stories these places hold, or stories that get created through times shared showcase the power of time spent outside. Thank you to all the guests and guides I got to work with this summer and thank you to the base-parents and the team back in the Yukon. These captures what it is like to work as a river guide. 1. Creating memories for complete strangers in environments where they shouldn't be. 2. Big splashes 3. Educating folks about the river. 4.
