Were you at the Community Dinner with artist Maree ReMalia @ma_ma_lia last Monday? 🥰

Next Friday and Saturday, October 23–24, we’ll welcome the world premiere of WITH OURSELVES, WITH EACH OTHER (WOWEO) at KST. At last Monday’s dinner, Maree shared how the work came together, and we had a chance to dive deeper into some of the themes behind WOWEO with Kelly Hughes, Founder & Executive Director of Foster Love Project @fosterloveproject. Lots to reflect on arts as a healing tool, adoption experience, foster care, and how we can all contribute to a community of care.

💐So many of the artists who helped bring WOWEO to life were also there! @hatch.arts.collective

🤖 The story goes that a mother creates an AI chatbot of the daughter she’s lost to help her mourn. But her child is very much alive, and he goes by Dustin. Now spending more time talking to a version of her child who never transitioned, the mother’s memory of the past fractures the present, leaving Dustin trying to hold the pieces together.

If the stores can start selling Halloween candy in September, we can start talking about Pumpkin Palooza. 👻 🎃

This year, Kelly Strayhorn Theater's Pumpkin Palooza lands on Halloween itself: Saturday, October 31! Bring the whole family to KST for an afternoon of candy, crafts, and fun activities with our community partner organizations in the KST lobby.

🎭 Then at 2:00 PM, educator and community leader @kang_chase K. Chase Patterson hosts a special performance featuring @ktheatredancecomplex K-Theatre Dance Complex, @yanlaidanceacademy Yanlai Dance Academy’s K-pop Class, @pmtmusicals PMT Conservatory's Creative Learning, and more!

After the performance, we welcome all princesses, monsters, superheroes, and magical creatures in a costume parade on stage to show off their Halloween looks!
