🪭Scented visions of African culture🪭

We're honoured to partner with the African Art Exhibition at the Residence of Ambassador of Egypt.

The @smell.the.art team is curating fragrances in dialogue with the works of an exceptional group of African artists and designers who call Finland home. Each scent is chosen to deepen, disrupt or extend what the eye perceives, turning a viewing into an immersive, multisensory encounter.

The artists have a truly global footprint. Their work has been featured in the New York Times, recognised with international awards and experienced by audiences around the world. Yet their creative journeys are rooted here in Finland, with Aalto University shaping many of them along the way. Work this rich in story deserves to be remembered, and scent is one of the most direct paths to memory.

"An artwork you have smelled is an artwork that stays with you".

A special thank you to His Excellency Mohamed Ghoneim, Ambassador of Egypt to Finland, for opening his residence.

We are deeply grateful to the Embassy of Egypt in Helsinki, Finn Church Aid - Kirkon Ulkomaanapu and the Finnish-African Society ry / Suomen Afrikka-Seura ry for welcoming us into this collaboration.

It is an intimate setting that makes an immersive experience feel all the more personal.

A glimpse of the future from 1968. The @thefuturoproject house imagined and designed by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen. @helsinkidesignweek in collaboration with @marimekko brought this wonder to the heart of Helsinki and it was so beautiful to see it parked in the botanic garden 🫶🏼

In addition to this famous ski lodge concept, Matti also has designed a more square-shaped cabin with glass walls, which is a truly incredible design even for the modern luxury standards. Venturo CF45.

I wonder if we can see it during the next edition of Design Week? 🙌🏼🥰🌸

The journey to MCR B-Stage barricade in Madrid. Couldn’t believe it! What an insane experience despite getting a line number over 100 this time. Ending up exactly on the spot I wanted to be at! Everyone in front of me, apparently, decided not to risk it with with small stage, maybe because of Florence.. A different perspective to the main stage with impeccable view on all the fire show and show elements. But the proximity to the B-stage for the second part of the show was priceless.

I am sooo grateful to @mychemicalromance for allowing me to experience my favorite songs live. The sound check was the one for the books, too 🎶
