🫟New to SpARC 2026, we’re so excited to introduce our Studio to Stage Workshop! 🫟

This event is perfect if you wanted the chance to perform at SpARC 2026, but may not be in a piece. Already planning on performing? You can still join this event!

Rehearsal will take place on Saturday, September 26th from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Montage Dance Productions in Santa Clara. Tech rehearsal will be the following day at 2:00pm at the Mexican Heritage Plaza in San Jose, where later in the evening at 4:30pm YOU will perform in the Selected Choreographer Showcase!

The workshop will be lead by Arielle Cole and Katie Chapin, where together the group will use guided prompts to build a piece together.

Tickets are on sale now and can be found in our bio or at arctangentdance.com. Make sure to sign up soon, as early bird prices won’t be available forever! We can’t wait to see you there🤸🏻‍♀️

Growing Pains

What does it mean to grow up, and who determines it? I’ve thought a lot about these questions over the past year, and have gone through about 1,000 different answers. During this time I have written them down in permanent and sometimes temporary spaces, where these ideas live and breathe on their own.

Throughout the course of the past year, I’ve had many growing pains. Just as they sound they’re painful, and in such so are the spaces I have created. Although the weight may be comforting, as I grow older I have learned how to use my old growing pains to heal my new ones.

Here is to me and anyone else experiencing their own growing pains; may we be able to apologize and forgive ourselves for the sometimes painful journey it is to continue to find yourself and develop into our new chapters in life.

2024 dance recap🤸🏻‍♀️

1. teaching a open class for SpARC Dance Festival
2. performing at ODC for their Pilot 74 dance showcase for @jennihongdance w/ many familiar faces :)
3. rehearsing work w/ and for friends to perform at Safehouse Arts
4. getting the juices going and starting some projects with some amazing ppl in 100 degree heat (worth it)
5. dancing in the park cause there’s no rules out there (it’s good for the soul)
6. showing my new work at SpARC
7. teaching/choreographing/and judging for Dance Masters of California
8. joined a heels dance team bc why not??
9. so. much. teaching. (also worth it)
10. lots of smiles and reflecting on where i was able to take myself

Theories in Coexistence

Last night I was awarded Outstanding Graduating Dance Senior in Choreography, and I have this piece and it’s dancers to thank the most. This piece analyzes the inner workings of someone’s head; the different versions of one’s self that make up who they are, and the inter relationships between these selves. Furthermore, despite all odds how they will, at the drop of a dime, come together in a time of crisis and work beside each other. This work came from my brain, but I am happy to say that it successfully stands alone as a reflection of life for whoever is in the audience.

Absolute huge thank you to all my dancers in this work, I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to work with your movement for my last piece on sjsu’s stage.
