yesterday was my little man’s 10th birthday so he got a special breakfast and a paddle board and toys for him & his cousin dogs & a run through the woods.

baby dog, may you have the longest and happiest and healthiest life in exchange for all the good you give to the world every day. 💙💙💙

thank you for being the best domestic AND international travel partner, running & hiking companion, paddle board & snorkel boat captain, art fair salesman, book reading snuggler, backcountry snowboard partner, therapist, and friend.

the girl pack put on backpacks and hot girl walked 11mi/3k vert to do exactly the same thing as any other saturday except with more dirt and less cell service - painting, games, cackling, eating burritos and drinking beers. mogul + zuke supervised. by @kt.stein

a week in oregon with some of my favorite women in the world - the perfect spring getaway 💙

sunsets by the hot tub, paint & sip from the deck, yoga with a view, hiking to find the best wildflowers, dive bar dancing, and walking wine tour in willamette valley from the most beautiful house

then a couple days on the coast to sit on the beach until it got dark and wake up slowly to read books from our cottage and paint cloudy landscapes and explore green trails to sea star covered coastlines and get massages and shop in little boutiques and drink wine while playing scrabble taken in Oregon by @kt.stein

I was so honored this year to be selected to design the “Colorado card” for @bhacolorado’s @liftthelabelco #RecoveryCardsProject - the cause is close to my heart and you all know I REALLY love sending/receiving mail 💕

❤️‍🔥 To everyone I know in the recovery community, you’re a badass.

To put things in perspective, here is just a slice of how common it is to struggle but how possible it is to find healing:
💙 One of my best friends from childhood checked herself into AA after being overprescribed opioids by a doctor, and met her husband through sobriety
💙 Another of my best & now longest friends invited me as a child to meet her support group and it has allowed me to understand her more forever
💙 Someone whose family has become family ended their life and left behind unlimited love & lessons
💙 An old friend admitted he hid bottles under his bed & friends said “one more won’t hurt” but his family took him home to stay out of hospital & get a job
💙 The leader of a nonprofit I work with stopped drinking years ago and it doesn’t stop him from partying just as hard
💙 Multiple athletes I’ve worked with became addicted after back injuries and now turn to adrenaline & outdoors to stay clean - some even went “pro” only after all this
💙 A friend had the courage recently to ask for help & a ride to a support facility - now, happier than ever
💙 People closest to me have been through so much, more than I can imagine, and are incredible humans
💙 Through abuse, shame & confusion I also turned toward dark places. I am eternally grateful for people who pulled me back up day after day, reminding me I am more than what some made me think I was. I am a skier & snowboarder, a mountain biker, a trail runner, a paddle boarder, a terrible golfer, an artist, a friend, a fiancee, a sister, a daughter, a dog mom, a book nerd, a horse lover, a world traveler.
