My bestie is a wife. 👰🏻‍♀️

I had the absolute honor of standing beside Noelle as her Maid of Honor.

For 20 years I’ve known Noelle meeting in college through Delta Zeta, and from the very beginning, she became my person. No matter what life has thrown at us, she’s been the constant in my life I never knew I needed.

If there’s one thing that’s always been true about Noelle, it’s that she puts everyone else first. Every single step of our friendship, she has made sure the people around her felt loved, seen, and taken care of. And today, I am just so overjoyed that it’s finally all about her and Matthew, and the start of their beautiful life together.

And Matthew—I have no doubt you will spend your life making sure Noelle is taken care of, just as she’s done for so many of us.

Noelle, I love you so much. Thank you for being my sister by choice long before today. You are radiant, and you deserve every ounce of joy this day holds.

There’s something prayerful about flying at night.
Not holy in the church pew kind of way,
not hands folded perfectly in prayer.

I mean holy like silence.
Like finally letting your own thoughts rest
without the world restarting them.

The cabin lights dim,
the city shrinks beneath you,
and suddenly all the things that felt urgent
become small enough to fit inside pockets of light
scattered across the earth.

Down there are deadlines.
Unread messages.
Expectations.
Versions of yourself you keep trying to keep alive
to meet the demands.

But up here?
Up here nobody needs anything.

You are suspended
between the noise of the ground
and the endlessness above it.
Not quite earth.
Not quite stars.
Just existing in the in between.

I used to think it was because airplanes bring us closer to God.
A few miles higher,
a few miles nearer to heaven.
But God does not need altitude to find us.
He is just as present in traffic jams
as He is above the clouds.

Still—
there’s something about this height
that loosens the grip the world has on you.

Because everyone below is sleeping.
The meetings are over.
The phones are quieter.
The world itself seems to exhale.

And for one brief moment,
you are allowed to stop becoming. by @ktscott27

DC this week felt a little extra special 🇺🇸

Yes, the Policy Summit was impactful. Yes, hitting the Hill with our members was energizing. Yes, the conversations we’re having right now about the future of athletic training really matter.

But if I’m being honest… my favorite part?

For the first time in a while, our senior leadership team was all together in the same place.

In between meetings, panels, and long days we got to laugh, debrief, support each other, and just be a team again. And that part doesn’t always get seen, but it’s what makes everything else possible.
