Join us this month for weekly community yoga with Liza, Dianne, and Carol. Wednesdays from 8:00-9:30 P.M. at Kubo LB, 3976 Atlantic Ave., Long Beach, 90807 Suggested Donation $10-$25 (tiers available at registration). No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Use the promo code ONEDOLLARYOGA to register for $1. Gather with us for a trauma-informed gentle yoga practice where we can prepare for and invite rest through our intentional breath and movement. Every body is welcome. Mats will be provided or bring your own. Liza Gesuden (she/her/siya) is a certified Breath 4 Change yoga instructor (500-ERYT) and teaches trauma-informed accessible movement classes with diverse communities. Dianne Que (she/her/siya) has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and is a newly certified yoga teacher (200-CYT). Centered in joy and care, she holds space for all bodies to practice mindful movement. Carol Corpuz is an experienced certified yoga, breath work, and meditation teacher based in LA/LB. We’re proud to announce our first ever Guest of Honor for Lumpia Laps: @jennestacio Jenn is the founder of @kubo.lb / @kubo.op - the non-profit kapatid/sibling born out of the give-back, philanthropy spirit, cultivating creative Filipinx community development via participatory action research and community needs assessment, intergenerational programming, and cultural enrichment. Jenn’s contribution to improve and support the Filipinx community is nothing but extraordinary. Highlights from Pamliya Play: Stories from our Lolas 💛✨ We began this beautiful intergenerational gathering with a reading of When Lola Speaks by @ren.dlc, setting the stage for an afternoon of storytelling, connection, and cultural memory. We then heard from a panel of Lolas and Lolos, grandmothers and grandfathers, as they shared stories of the Philippines and their journeys of migration to the U.S. 🇵🇭❤️🇺🇸 To cap off the day, everyone got creative with a crafting activity, decorating little frames for printed photos of their own Lolas and Lolos. 🖼️👵🏽👴🏽 Special thanks to @risingfilipinas and @flippfamily for hosting such a meaningful intergenerational event and creating space for our elders’ stories, memories, and wisdom to be celebrated and passed on. 🫶🏽 Events like this are part of the work we do to foster cultural enrichment, community healing, and connection across generations. 💛 There’s still time to donate through Long Beach Gives!
