If you want to support us there’s coffee at @gravitycalgary with our logo on it and $$$ from every bag sold goes right into our pockets! I’ll be playing there solo to raise funds as well on May 1! WOWOWOW THAT ARTWORK thanks tooooo — @sel.de.marin Thank you to the team— @smallfrymusicco @russellbroom @karatesauce @yer_pal_ez @jessarcand A little more about the record: Inspired by surrealists across artforms, including Kurt Vonnegut, David Lynch, and Remedios Varo (Kue Varo’s namesake), Kue’s technicolour songs know no bounds. With a keen eye and a witty pen, Kue tackles everything from sensuality to religion to disinformation. What emerges are kinetic odes to the power of art itself, the stakes made clear when they belt: “the economy wishes it could be the god of every fate / But nothing beats the thrill of making what begs to be made.” - Sam Boer by @kuevaro

HOW EVERYTHING FEELS AND OTHER LIES Is out now! And I’m just elated. “Crafted alongside Juno Award-winning producer Russell Broom, How Everything Feels is a 90s-inspired synth-and-drums record, with wild electric guitar riffs, shimmering harmonies, and experimental flourishes. While unconfined by genre, this album has playful nods to Cocteau Twins’ grooves, The Breeders’ playfulness, and the raw wreckage of early PJ Harvey, reaching mystical heights and dramatic depths. Throughout, Kue is the ringleader of the album’s spectacle, playing a prismatic version of themself: an “emotional exhibitionist and liaison,” honest and unrestrained.” And alongside @karatesauce @yer_pal_ez and @lylemolzan as well. Thanks @russellbroom for everything you do and who you are. Huge thanks to @smallfrymusicco for releasing/distributing this on such a tight timeline. ALSO BIG THANKS @cpsmastering @oclstudios @afa.1991 Thanks to @sel.de.marin for the gorgeous album artwork and plucking away at our music video we’re all thrilled to see once it’s complete 🖤⭐️ Happy Hexennacht (witches day) to my German family and witchy people. Thanks @heathersaitz for the photographs The rest of the pic are: 2026 Us in the studio wrapping the bed tracks and writing 2010 me in my bedroom writing 2012 me in my apartment living room covering a song 2013 covering some other song in the bathroom cause roommates 2015 The Heirlooms music video for Touch You 2016 the Heirlooms at Ironwood 2016 Shaw tv performance 2017 at the NMC as Mister & Mystic 2020 Kue Varo music video for Just Don’t Lie Music is the best thing I could spend my life doing and I’m extremely grateful for the people around me. Quick Pick: Kue Varo And The Only Hopes - How Everything Feels & Other Lies @kuevaro Written by Wren Hale @wrenisnotavailable How Everything Feels & Other Lies finds Calgary’s Kue Varo and the Only Hopes at their grandest yet. Following two previous releases - The solo debut Daffodil 11 and 2023’s breakout Cowboy Witchcraft - this sophomore (with a full band) effort leans further into genre-hopping territory. Blending psych folk components with indie rock grit, their lyrical heavy songwriting and confident melodies make this their richest, most emotionally layered work to date. https://kuevaro.bandcamp.com/album/how-everything-feels-other-lies by @kuevaro

Full Body Memory is out today! Everywhere!! It would mean the world if you would have a listen and give a share. Are you ready to go camping?! I sure am. This song is about time traveling by way of the hyper-aroused senses (and sensory memory) I have with ASD lvl 1 and 2. Time traveling can be by choice in meditation, or surprise by a familiar scent, or a violent sickness inducing sensory overload mixed with ptsd. I can visit all my heavens, or be broken into by my hell. Makes for cool art. And damn I love loons. @russellbroom thank you for encouraging me to create about my lived experiences. You and @mhairisafari are like family to me and I love you both dearly. Music written and produced by @russellbroom and I Lyrics by me Supporting Instrumentation and further compositions/creativities @karatesauce @yer_pal_ez Percussion @lylemolzan (thank you for joining us you’re such an incredible person and artist) Mastered by @cpsmastering Released by @smallfrymusicco through @theorchard Photo by the incredible @heathersaitz by @kuevaro
