“I first met Judge Bough at a KCMBA happy hour and later reached out to grab coffee to learn more about his work and the courthouse,” said 2L Margaret Henery Fager. “During that conversation, he mentioned the summer internship program in his chambers, and I was immediately intrigued. Since I’m still exploring which area of law I want to practice, the opportunity to be in chambers and the courtroom while gaining exposure to a wide variety of practice areas felt like an ideal fit.”⁠ ⁠ During her time at the Western District of Missouri, Henery Fager has worked on a wide range of projects including drafting orders, reviewing motions, conducting legal research and editing a law review article for an upcoming University of Missouri-Kansas City symposium. She has also gained hands-on experience with criminal law and the federal sentencing guidelines by working through mock sentencing reports and reviewing final sentencing reports and motions from both parties.⁠ ⁠ “This summer has truly been a wonderful experience, and I’ve learned so much,” Henery Fager continued. “My ultimate goal is to build my legal career right here in the Kansas City metro.
