There’s something magical about seeing photos in print, the weight, the texture, the permanence. I’ve been spending a lot of time printing lately, but I hadn’t yet taken the leap into making a zine... until now. This is my very first DIY photo zine, brought to life with the help of my incredible wife. Holding it feels like holding a piece of my heart. So excited to share more soon,this is just the beginning!

a photo zine about the dogs we see, but rarely stop for.

the street dogs, the companions of no one,
yet part of every corner we pass.
some sleeping, some staring back, all surviving.

photographed over quiet nights and early mornings.
printed at home on my canon G3770 on munkin pure 150gsm paper and bound slowly by hand.

Back on film again after a long time. Still getting used to slowing down with it. I keep missing focus because I’m shooting manual and honestly I’m not patient enough yet, but I don’t mind it as much as I thought I would. The pictures still carry something. Maybe because they’re imperfect. Maybe because film already feels like memory while you’re still living it.

I also realised one of the reasons I slowly stopped shooting film before wasn’t the cost (although every roll does feel like a tiny financial decision my wife silently judges me for), it was everything around it. Packing rolls, couriering them to another city, waiting for scans, then waiting again for the negatives to come back. The whole thing made me pick up my film camera less and less.

Been enjoying the process a lot more now because of @minettafilmlab in Hyderabad. Makes film feel less distant and easier to return to.

I stood there not knowing what to call it, devotion, possession, or something older than both. The air felt alive, the faces changed, and for a brief moment, it didn’t feel like they were becoming her, it felt like she was remembering herself through them.
