Wow! A Truly Special memory📍@kullahupi
We stayed at the 250 Year Old Albanian Heritage Tower in Bulqizë
Approximately 1 hour 20 from Durres if you are wanting to experience the history, Mountains & Culture of Albania.
We experienced a traditional Albanian breakfast outside with the view of the mountains and a cosy dinner cooked by the family infront of the fire.
The dinner & breakfast area is where the family prepares all the fresh ingredients infront of you.
Here you can also buy their home made cranberry juice, fig jams, vinegar vegetables, wine & Raki.
For breakfast I wore the traditional Albanian dress of the mountains.
The grandmar also used to do the gardening in this!
It took some time to put on as there is lots of layers.
We also had the Çaj Mali tea which is traditionally served in the mountains.
Eggs, omelette, homemade juice & dhallë - liquid yoghurt milk
Petulla are small pieces of raised dough dropped directly into hot oil and fried until golden brown.
They are a beloved staple of Balkan households
You will find them everywhere in Albania often with honey, jam & feta.
Aswell as Byrek of course.
Definitely worth visit it’s so peaceful & beautiful.
After dinner all the guests sat by the fire over a glass of thier own red wine with the family and we learnt all about the history.
