Some unseen moments from the Junior Olympics this year. He didn’t finish how he could have, but to even qualify is a major accomplishment. Next year he knows what to expect and he’ll be better prepared. It was a great experience. Full of support, opportunity, adventure and competition. Forever grateful for this opportunity! by @kuminaacg

Kumina ran his second fastest time today!!! The competition is fierce. Several of the boys he’s raced all season also qualified and I’m pretty sure they all hit personal bests! It’s so impressive to see this level of talent! Kumina will run again tomorrow having run a qualifying time! #100m #trackandfield by @kuminaacg

I get a lot of questions about how muscular Kumina is. This boy has been doing gymnastics since he was about three. He was training two-three times per week at the gym with Mom at her evening job coaching. Not including any other sport he might have had going on. He’s grown so much in his skill. Even more importantly he’s trained his body and learned to trust it. He doesn’t land everything, but you better believe he’ll try try try again until he does. The training that he’s had here easily translates to other sports. Sometimes he’s just out here doing stuff and I have to tell him to chill, because safety! To see where he started with his baby cartwheel to the progress he’s made 🤯 by @kuminaacg

Finally posting the finals from the Regional Junior Olympics in El Paso, TX. Second place finish. Not his best time, but a 15.01. He qualified for the national Junior Olympics coming next weekend. If you’d like to support with getting him to Norwalk, CA please send me a message. by @kuminaacg

He finished his 100 m finals in 4th at the Cali State Games. Not the place or time at all what we were looking for. 15.63. He’s definitely disappointed. *deep sigh* Onward still. Junior Olympics are coming. by @kuminaacg

Kumina is just built different. Unlimited tumbling is a first this summer 🤩 by @kuminaacg

Don’t be fooled there’s plenty of play within all the work. by @kuminaacg

Let’s take it back to Friday night light highlights. He’d been asking to try flag. Mom finally got him in and he did just as expected. No surprise at all that he’s got hands and an arm. He was much better at offense than defense, but grew so much throughout the season! Of course he played quarter and running back. Now he wants to try tackle, but mom isn’t really up for that 😖 #flagfootball #fridaynightlights by @kuminaacg
