As man thinks in his heart, so is he.

As someone who thinks deeply, it’s easy for me to overanalyse situations or run through every angle. But on this journey of learning to take every thought captive, I’m choosing not to be led by feelings or fleeting desires, but to trust what God has said knowing His Word will never fail.

Just an hour ago, I was texting my pastor about how I felt like university might not be for me and how I wanted to give up. Writing today’s post reminded me again that it’s really not about feelings. In fact, Pastor Danny’s exact words were: “Destiny is not a feelings thing.”

So Day 16 is about holding onto the promise and allowing truth to truly renew the mind (Romans 12:2).

Today, I choose to show up because in the end, it will be worth it. by @kunasheee_

A man after God’s own heart.

I asked myself why David was called a man after God’s own heart and the answer seems simple: his pursuit. He wasn’t focused on where he was going or how he would get there, because he trusted that God could get him there regardless.

So in today’s episode of romanticising discipline, the emphasis is this: who we seek shapes who we become and ultimately, what we are remembered for

My desire is simple: to be a man after God’s own heart… nothing more nothing less

I share this not as someone who has arrived, or as someone without sin, but as someone who knows what it feels like to be outside the will of God, far from His presence and experience the emptiness that comes with it.

I know what it’s like to be stuck in sin, not always voluntarily, but because you’ve been there so long that returning to the Father doesn’t feel worth it anymore. You begin to believe you’ve been away too long. You find yourself doing things you don’t want to do, yet you’re crippled by shame—so much so that you feel unable to return to the One who first loved you. Over time, you even begin to find comfort in doing wrong, convincing yourself it’s better to return to the fire that keeps burning you.

But I write this as an encouragement: return.

If there is one thing we do not truly possess in this life, it is time. Do not delay your destiny, your breakthrough or your increase by assigning a future date to obedience. Time is a journey, but eternity is a destination and every delay risks the direction you’re heading.

There is only so much satisfaction sin can offer, and even that is temporary. It never lasts. But I know a Man who ensures that when our hearts are truly fixed on Him, we are never found wanting…. His name is Jesus.

It is important that we learn to recognise the times and seasons we are in. This is not a life where we knowingly live in sin during the week, assuming Sunday repentance will cover it. There is a fullness in Christ that we are called to live in now, not later.

This isn’t about waiting for loss, pain or desperation to make us serious about God. Not tomorrow. Not when you turn 30. Not when the new year comes. The hour has come and it is now for us to rise, to be diligent, to walk in truth and to live in the fullness of our calling.

I say this to myself as much as to anyone reading: eternity is waiting.

STOP THAT SIN TODAY. REPENT . RETURN by @kunasheee_
