“In Endless Cookie, Seth and Pete Scriver’s kooky, grotesquely animated documentary, a rich oral history poetically blended with oddball comedy invites surprising political revelations … This is the cinematic translation of a community.”

My uncle Mike Constable passed away on July 3rd after a few year battle with dementia, diabetes and health issues. So its been sad but also a bit of a relief.
He was a mentor to me and taught me how to draw, the basics of animation, how to make a joke pranks, and how to say fuck you to the man.
There's a great documentary about him by Michael Connolly called "How to eat a cat" free to watch on youtube. I was excluded from the documentary cause Mike got me so drunk the night before my interview I couldn't talk the next day, haha.
Mike was a prankster, street theatre organizer and political cartoonist most his life being published in every major publication in Canada. he founded cartooned in and co-edited Guerilla newspaper a radical underground news paper in Toronto from 69 to 74. He co founded the union arts service, as well as partisan gallery and taught at ocadu to name a few things he did.

He famously was sued by the catholic church for a cartoon he made making fun of Ratzinger when he was Pope saying "Heil" Mary, he also famously had a class action lawsuit against Mike Harris with a group of Mike's for slandering their names.

Haha

I tried to post more animations and illustrations of his here in IG but it keeps cropping them weird so I will post a few and here and maybe will make an archive of some of his work at some point.

The weirdest thing about Mike dying on July 3rd for me was it was moments after I finally got access to one of his old hard drives that ide been looking for the plug for for months.

Anyhow rest in power Uncle Mike! by @kunysack
