E scooter and E bikes accidents are on the rise. A 62 % increase in hospitalizations according to the Canadian Institute for Health Infornation. Is it time for the province to mandate insurance for electric propelled vehicles using bike lanes or the road with the same accident benefit coverages we have on cars and motorcycles ? by @kurtbergmanis

Under the Citys Congestion Management Plan cars stopping in crosswalks, transit stops , by hydrants or in bike lanes face immediate fines. The plan contemplates the expansion of the cycling network by @kurtbergmanis

Why not start with the Highway Traffic Act definition of a "bicycle "? A one two or three wheel cycle with handle bars , pedals and no motor. But what about an E- bike ? The HTA includes a "power assisted bicycle"within the definition of a bicycle if it is limited to 32km/hr. by @kurtbergmanis
