Rotten Lace is expanding, and we’re seeking passionate, creative individuals to join our growing collective. I am currently looking for photographers, product designers to collaborate on ideas and brainstorming with, sewing enthusiasts (experienced or beginners ready to learn), and innovative thinkers to help bring new ideas to life.

At Rotten Lace, we value originality, craftsmanship, and artistic collaboration. We encourage individuals with bold, distinctive, and unconventional styles to be part of our vision, because diversity of expression is what fuels our creativity. Every perspective, every aesthetic, and every idea adds to the identity of Rotten Lace.

This is an opportunity to be part of a hands-on, fashion-driven environment where creativity and individuality shape everything we do.

All questions will be answered and information will be provided to those interested.

*IMPORTANT NOTE! Do not feel shy, as everything is still in setting up progress! Early time to build a nice collaborative team, and get the ropes of what to actually learn, and or do. Most importantly, 99% of the hard work will be in my hands, I do not want people to have to worry about the actual product making unless that includes sewing. Soaps, scrubs, or any essential items will not be in the hands of anyone unless someone actually wants to learn how to make all of that. Most of what I am looking for is people who can bring ideas to the table, and people who can or want to sew for extra assistance. Although product ideas are always welcome if making them isn’t your thing :-). by @kurtsboner

this work questions the idea that strength is something permanent or admirable on its own. it suggests that weakness is not failure, but an unavoidable state; one that reveals truth rather than illusion. by holding both figures in the same moment, the piece confronts the reality that vulnerability exists on both sides of power, and that dominance often masks fear, instability, and the need to prove oneself.
this piece explores the fragile boundary between strength and vulnerability. at first glance, the central figure appears dominant;muscular, elevated, and mid-strike, embodying conventional ideas of power and control. yet the moment captured is unstable. the body is twisted, off-balance, and caught in an instant where force does not guarantee certainty. strength here is not solid; it is strained and temporary.
the contrast between the fully rendered figure and the loosely sketched body beneath him is intentional. the rough, unfinished lines of the lower figure represent exposure and weakness, but not insignificance. instead, they reflect what it means to be seen without protection;raw, incomplete, and human. vulnerability becomes visible, while power remains dependent on performance.
color and form divide the space, creating tension between control and collapse. the exaggerated musculature suggests an almost desperate insistence on dominance, while the obscured face removes individuality, turning strength into an anonymous act rather than a personal triumph. the figure’s power is loud, but fleeting.

this piece was for a midterm, but also just a fun mixed media. midterm week has been super busy but all will return back to pace soon. thank you
