I’m thrilled to invite you to the premiere of my new work, Migrations, on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 7 PM at Los Angeles Grand Performances. This FREE performance is part of the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs’ COLA Individual Artist Fellowship program.

Migrations is a deeply personal exploration of identity, belonging, and the immigrant experience.

One more year around the sun. 🦀 A favorite portrait taken by @matt_genecov some time ago.

Yesterday, I took the morning of my birthday to attempt to revive some dying plants. They taught me a lesson that I feel sums up my whole year. The plants had green, beautiful, vibrant leaves- but as I traced down to the roots, I found hidden below the roots were brittle and fragile.

This year I’ve been addressing my fragile roots, gaining awareness that I project full, healthy leaves to those around me. I am accepting that only I can save these roots, not a human outside me. I am humbled and thankful for the spiritual teachers, communities and practices that have grounded me and given me the tools to approach these roots with compassion. by @wsouly

Thank goodness I ended up in Yosemite this week despite unpromising weather. 🌘

I am so grateful @jon_oulton includes me on his adventures and graciously teaches me the skills I’ve been wanting to learn.
