💚🐶 It’s been over a year since KVMR lost our federal funding but neighbors continue to pitch in to keep community radio alive. 🐶 On Saturday, October 17th, @riverdog4_taproom will donate a portion of their proceeds to KVMR. Their big fans of craft brews, dogs and community radio - so for their anniversary they thought they’d celebrate by including them all! 💚 We never cease to be amazed by the way this community steps up to support the station. 🐶 You can celebrate River Dog 4’s anniversary & support KVMR this Saturday at their tap room in the McKnight Crossing shopping center in Grass Valley. Dogs are invited - we'll see you there! by @kvmr_radio

💚 THANK YOU for pitching in during our "More Than Music" Membership Drive! 💚 KVMR gets the funding we need one dollar & one donor at a time. Every gift is meaningful and every gift a testament to its giver’s community spirit and generosity. We are grateful for every dollar that has ever been donated, every meal dropped off, every hour of volunteering—whether on-air or behind the scenes. The possibility of KVMR is built every day by your friends & neighbors. It’s a daily miracle, and we've kept it local in our community for 48 years. 🫂 A heartfelt thank you for helping us defend the precious resource that is community radio and public media! #KVMR #CommunityRadio #PublicMedia #NevadaCity #PublicRadio by @kvmr_radio

📢 It's FREE SPEECH FRIDAY! 📢 Public media was born when the Communications Act of 1934 created a unique framework where the public's right to receive information was paramount. Stations were—and still are—required to promote safety and serve the public interest, aligning with First Amendment guarantees of free speech and press.  The consequences of last year's cuts to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting can’t be overstated, especially for rural stations like KVMR. Community radio holds space at the table for local folks to share the air with media giants. KVMR is a local news source in a news desert.  ⭐ AND when you donate today YOUR DOLLARS ARE DOUBLED, up to $5,000, to defend this priceless resource! ⭐ ➡️ Protect Free Speech by: ◽calling (530) 265-9555 ◽clicking the link in our bio ◽heading to KVMR.org #KVMR #CommunityRadio #PublicMedia #PublicRadio #NevadaCity by @kvmr_radio

🥕 We know yesterday was Pet Day but really, can you ever have enough fuzzy community radio champions in your life? People use the Internet for all kinds of reasons–shopping, getting super depressed by doomscrolling, and perhaps its highest power, seeing other people's cute pets! Some days reality bites and a dog wearing a hat can really take the edge off. (We've got those in spades!) Keep sending your pet photos to socialmedia@kvmr.org during our "More Than Music" Membership Drive and we’ll keep posting them so we can share something to smile about. 🫏 ➡️ & if your fluffy companion wishes to become a KVMR Member: ◽call (530) 265-9555 ◽click the link in our bio ◽head to KVMR.org #KVMR #CommunityRadio #publicmedia #publicradio #nevadacity by @kvmr_radio

🎩 Become a Thousandaire. It’s not a real word, but it makes a real difference.  We know it's wild but KVMR is looking for 100 people to make a major impact by becoming Thousandaires in our "More Than Music" Membeship Drive. You can give $1000 in a year, whether it’s all at once or $83 dollars a month.  ✨ Your super-sized gift can help KVMR make up the shortfall brought on by last year’s public media budget cuts. Plus, you get: ◽invitations to a swanky party at Unit J, ◽tickets to the Holiday Hoedown at the Nevada Theater, ◽and weekend passes to the Celtic Festival with access to our VIP Happy Hour in the festival green room So, if you can afford to dig a little deeper become a KVMR Thousandaire today. 💚 ➡️ Feeling extra generous? Become a Thousandaire by: ◽calling (530) 265-9555 ◽clicking the link in our bio ◽heading to KVMR.org #KVMR #CommunityRadio #PublicRadio #PublicMedia #NevadaCtiy by @kvmr_radio
